Goddamn it, my usb hub just caught fire, had to flip off the power to my entire computing rig. Crying or Very sad Now it smells like burnt plastic. Sad Luckily I had the hub isolated, so nothing else was ruined. Fuck!

I've no idea, I just heard some crackling, looked over, and the LEDs were white, showing evidence of it burning up, then I smelled burned plastic.

That reminds me of my 550W PSU blowing up like chinese fuck newyear at 2AM in the morning.
And that plastic smell, fuckin hell I hate that shit.
Kinda interested in how a usb hub caught fire though...if you find out post, I want to know Very Happy

As I said I duno how it happened, might have been a power surge or something, doesn't take much current over USB to short things. I think the max alloted current is like 500mW. :S Fucking good thing I was sitting here, otherwise my entire rigwould be gone, along with my room. Sad
