It's probably not that in all honesty.

I would certainly say it's something to do with your port.

Try without your router, a direct connection would eliminate that. Even if it's just temporary.

lol its funny to say this but.. my longest cable is about 10 cm from the "real" internet broadband so i cant plug it in. the router is the only way. Or i can just find someone to upload the PB win32 file for me.

I really doubt it is PB. I would bet that it's a lan port.

It's not a file.

Read this:

To Manually update your local PunkBuster Security Files, choose "Save As" from your Web Browser's "File" Menu and explore to find your game folder and the subfolder called "pb", then save this file in that location (/pb/pbsec.htm or /pb/pbsecsv.htm). The next time you start your game, your PunkBuster will have the latest security information necessary to accept auto-updates from PB Servers.

download pbsetup.exe, run it and it will update your punkbuster compatible games...

You've tried disabling the nVidia LAN port and used the yukon instead?

Bridging your router could be a solution too but I am not sure if it will work as good as no router.

The only other alternative is to format your pc and make sure your nvidia port is switched off before you reinstall windows.

You could try reinstalling BF2 again making sure the entire bf2 directory is deleted.

With PC's you can never be too sure. But BF2 is such a great game it's a shame to miss out on it.

BTW if you get it working and you want two unlocks at a time, find someone you trust with the special forces add on pack. Give them your accounts password and user name. Then ask them to log onto your account and play on a SF map. Then you'll have two weapons unlocks on each promotion.
