I want to try it because of the humor related material. I heard nothing else except all the humoress ways your Sims could die.
Like inviting them all in the pool and then removing the ladder.

My whole point is that you know the thread is about Sims2. Therefore the thread contains related material for individuals who enjoy the origin of the game. The Sims in otherwards. The thread is not for those who do not like it so stop posting negative comments about it. If you did not like the original Sims, then the thread is not for that person. And they should look at another thread. If you ask me,they are attention babies who just wish to blab.

If it's not another wakeup-wash-eat-work-eat-bed POS, it could be good. The Sims was just too much bull - I found it takes about 30 hours to do all the things that you had to do in a day. If the guys would do things like take a leak when they need to and you're not doing anything with them, it would make it so much more playable because then they do have some free time, you can use it rather than taking care of some other sim-moron.
The Sims was a mildly interesting house designing toy. Once the house was built, game over.

I don't think the sims is any fun BUT when I see my niece and my nephew happy playing it, I know those are 40 bucks well spent.

This game is boring, and it will always stay boring. How long can you do the same? the game has it's restrictions and soon you gonna meet them. Once all been explored, it not that fun anymore. It's maybe fun for 1 week MAX....after that it's welcome to the bore land.Of course that's mu opinion:)

Yes your right, I am speaking more of sims 1 then 2 but sims 2 isn't that diff, it's still the same boring core. And as I said, every game has it's restrictions and I'm sure this game has the same as the first.

The thing with the sims is that for me when I come home from work I tend to like something totally different in a game, be it a science fiction setting or a historical setting with lots of action.
To come home from work and then virtually go to work and to virtually clean up your house an virtually throw away the garbage just plain sucks.
I really do not understand why people want to do the boring stuff again in a virtual world.

I loved cleaning toilets in The Sims. My toilets were always clean, and I was the envy of the town. Bella Goth once tried to destroy my upstairs bedroom toilet with one of her colon nukes, but after a few days of polishing and scrubbing, I showed her--it was back to a sparkling white! What a bitch!

I just read Gamespy's latest preview and I gotta say, I'm really looking forwards to this despite hating The Sims and thinking it's the most over rated game ever.
I always felt there could have been a game in The Sims, but the powers that be didn't believe in it enough to invest (TBH, neither would I even with Will Wright behind it). 22 million copies later, I think they're smart enough to go for it. If they up the graphics, increase the amount to do and the complexity of the simulation to open more options (as covered in that preview) and stop being so damn wussy and PG (I've seen screenshots of hemp growing, a good start), then there will be a game behind the mildly interesting house designing title that The Sims is.
