check other filenames for that hash
== Fifa Manager 2006.rar
filesize 1.33G

there's another file, armed assault.rar, which i can't see other names for
but is 737M
i'm thinking that's way too small to be AA

Graphics are not very good, so those recommended specifications tells me: unoptimized!

you should remember flashpoint, and how amazingly scalable the engine was
you still can't turn all the knobs all the way up, except on the very fastest machines
it had 2048x2048 textures for some things, which was totally unthinkable when the game came out
it's probably the same with AA
average settings reaching quality you see in most screenshots, and with newer tech, more detailed gameworld and such

The old game was geared towards CPU rather than video cards however.

I'm no expert on this stuff But I always thought textures (especially in a game like OFP where very big texture sizes were used) were also very ram-dependent... I remember buying 256 additional ram for my PC back in 2001 just for ofp, making it 512 ram. I remember ofp's performace was about 30% better just because of the additional ram. And I'm pretty sure Geometry and Texture are not wholly vid card dependant. OFP was indeed much more CPU focused than gpu focused. The game didn't ahve much special effects which were the speciality of gpus back then...

yes, ofp is VERY cpu intensive
much more so than almost any other game i can think of
you can't really scale down on those for slower tech
but you can drop detail, which is almost completely on the videocard these days
when ofp came out, the whole offloading of things like geometry and such were at their very early stages and ofp implementation of this technology was fairly limited
so it depended a lot on physical RAM to store much of the world geometry and such, aswell
with them porting it to xbox i'm sure they had to redesign the entire engine to fit into those severe restrictions
and as a result we have a significantly more slimmed down and scalable engine to run AA
with ofp the scalability was mostly videocard and memory based, if you had a sufficient processor to begin with
i'm guessing with AA it will be with all, but mostly on videocards

AA is just like OPF a very big and crowed game, so your conclusion tells me: idiot!

Graphics is about the thing I (and not only I) care least about when playing the game. Your conclusion tells me that you have not the slightest Idea of how the game mechanics work, or else you'd know that its not necessarely the graphics which require those specs, but many other much more important factors.

You are the idiot here. And by the way, those screenshots I based that judgment on were rather old. Here are two new ones:

Graphics to me (and not only me) weights equally to other factors in a game when playing it. Of course I know about other game mechanics such as AI, physics, etc, (and that they affect system requirements too) but since I have not played the game yet I cannot judge that.

ofp takes absolutely zero advantage of a dual system
i've had a dual machine for a long time and it still lags just like on 1 cpu
the only boost i get is the offloading of other processes onto the other processor, so ofp can take the other cpu completely
hopefully AA has been coded with multithreading in mind
