@Headshot
About your experience. It was really late you may of just have been dreaming it, and wrong about the experience the next morning.

Lutzifer wrote:
if it happens again and starts to get more serious i d seek psychiatric counselling. Else i d say it was a misinterpretation of your auditory system. At night your hearing senses are sharper, because there is much less background noise making the little noise there still is open for (mis)interpretation by your hearing, especially since you say it was only whispering.

And no, i dont believe in ghosts. But i dont rule out their existance either. It s just that i havent seen compelling evidence for it.

Totally agree. Memories have a lot to do with brain chemistry.

I think this too but I think it has more to do with worm food (waldojames) I would like to think my sprit will move on to become part of nature and my molecules will become part of the ecosystem.

I have stayed on many many burial grounds (I posted pictures of the human remains) My tent was maybe a 7 min walk away. No problems. If anything, it felt eerily safe and protected.

You just heard something and your mind couldn't figure out what it really was so it perceived it as something very common in your life like your name or something else. Minds play tricks on people all the even when they’re fully awake. It’s common. Ghosts are figments of our imaginations. We hear a story and then when something similar happens we begin believing this story and we end up believing in ghosts. It’s normal.

You probably heard the wind gently blowing in the house. You haven’t been visited by a paranormal being and you won’t be visited by a paranormal being for a long long time. If you truly believe it, in your heart and mind, that life outside of death exists and ghosts are real then sooner or later your mind will play further tricks on you and you’ll end up going insane. Misplacing forks/spoons on purpose, but not realizing it, and ending up blaming it on spirits wandering in your house.

It’s all in your head, the more serious and more real you believe it is the more real and serious it will be. You end up seeing things you want to see, shadows, figures, faces, etc.

Just let it go. It’ll do you good.

The house I grew up in was haunted. I was constantly seeing shit. So did anyone who stayed there.

Spirits are real, for sure.

@headshot

Dude, that shit happens to me all the time. I'll be doing something or laying in bed and I'll clearly hear someone call my name...and I live alone. Neutral

I had a really freaky experience this morning at approximately 2:10am! I was downstairs making a cup of tea, stirring it and waiting for it to go the colour I like it to be when I heard someone or something whisper my name. "Daniel?" I responded with "hello?" but I heard nothing in reply. It sounded like it came from the kitchen where I was but there was no one there! I stood there in sheer shock and tried to comprehend it. It seemed like a seriously long time before I realised it sounded like my sister but she was upstairs in bed asleep. Then I had this really bizarre sensation of dread and several times I shuddered but it felt like nothing Ive ever experienced before. I have no idea what it was that I heard or where the noise came from. Im quite sure I didnt imagine it and I wasnt hallucinating and it most absolutely and definitely wasnt a dream! I dont do drugs, I dont smoke anything, I havent had alcohol in weeks but I cannot come to any logical explanation. I did do a Ouija board in our house with a couple of friends but that was years ago.

Next time I whisper your name atleast make me a cuppa too! guests in your house arent treated very well are they? Razz

Syco, you probably have drugs in your system 24/7, no offense but that shit's bound to affect you psychologically.

If you want to believe something enough, you'll find ways to verify that belief be it consciously or unconsciously.

If you had asked someone from 16th century europe if witchs were real you'd almost certainly get a positive answer. You'd probably even get a tale about when they encountered one. We know it's bullshit now, but they would genuinely believe it, if only because they want to believe it, they've been brought up to believe it. Not because of any compelling evidence.

Maybe witches do exist except that they are sooo sneaky you know they exist. 500 yrs (maybe more) of persecution will do that do you. (I am reading a book on it now)

Something about staring at it and it haunts you or some bullfuck shit like that.

Then people talked (I believe animalmother, the mother of animals) about how it was not correctly drawn.

hehe Very Happy

On topic.
If ghosts and spirits do exist they are cool with some people. Some people believe they have a guardian angel or spirit looking after them. Kinda like a ghost. I think I am one of these people. Really weird things have happened to me. Sitting outside at the mall waiting for my friend to come out. A bum comes down and sits beside me and starts talking. He starts talking about something bad in my life. This one guy said my name. It was weird. I turn around because my friend came and he is gone.

One time my friend and I got a flat tire in a really (the worse) part of town. This scary guy asked us if he can help. We say ok and he has the tire changed in 5 mins. (I learned how to change a tire after that, not my car tho) Anyway we went to hand him a $10 bill and he was gone. Up and down the street. Within 10 seconds.

He could have just been a helpful guy, they might be rare but they do exist.

As for witchs, well they certainly don't exist in the same capacity as people in medieval europe tended to believe. You know, women with supernatural abilities who curse people and stuff like that.

I mean, there are women all over the planet who get high and then think they have special powers (healing, clairvoyance etc) it's just that they're not burnt at the stake for it any more.

I was just joking around with you and the witches. I watch too much Joss Wheaton. Very Happy A little bit of lets say weed isn't going to convince anyone they have any special powers or anything. There were no drugs or alcohol involved in my little examples.

Fair enough. That debate would probably never have a conclusion. Smile

Exactly. You may not believe in the sueprnatural and you may be correct.
But I do believe in the supernatural (has nothing to do with drugs) and who knows, i may be correct. No one answer can correctly draw a conclusion

I can!

Laughing

I believe in ghosts. I have haunting nightmares couple times a week since I was 9. There was one where I was sleeping at a farm at one of my sister’s friends and the roof split open and witches and other critters started tearing me apart. I woke up in my own vomit. Then I had a dream that witches took me away and I was lost in the dark woods. Woke up shivering and screaming. Got lost in the woods the following year when we went mushroom picking! I had several encounters with ghastly beings as well (Imagination). I choose not to believe in them, but there is belief in them within me. Just like I loathe god and all his bull shit things, I can’t help but question his existence. Just like life outside of our solar system. It seems bullshit at first, but you can’t help wonder about it.

Y’know? Sad

People probably got a spooky feeling because they 'knew' something happened.

All places everywhere where someone has died can not possibly be haunted.
