|
 |
Ok so I just purchased a 360 and I wasnt aware that burned dvd9 games worked on them, so for example say I wanted to play saints row can I just burn per instruction and it'll work? Im a total beginner here so gimme a break, Im a pc man myself.
most of the 360 nfo's just say
1. Unrar
2. Burn with CloneCD
3. Play and enjoy!
is that all I need to do or is there modding involved and opening up the console?

google 'xboxscene' and enjoy.
there is MUCH more to it than just burning a disk.

yeah Ive been reading xbox scene but it may as well be in japanese, theres like 600,000 steps to 'flashing' and to be honest I dont even think it warrants doing it, might as well just buy it.
seems.......complicated. I asked here too, I didnt ask for a link to xbox scene. I wondered if anyone here can help out a total noob with what needs to be done.

1. flash firmware on your drive to a modded one
2. download a game (like Saints row)
3. get some Verbatim DVD+r DL discs (recommended!)
4. use DVDInfoPro or similar to bitset DVD+r DL to DVD-Rom if you are going to use Xtreme mod. If you are going to use NME DO NOT bitset.
5. Burn the game with CloneCD (easiest)
6. play away

well Ive been reading like crazy tonight and some of that jibberish is making sense, from what I can gather my dvd drive (the 360's) is a samsung, and thats a good sign I think, so what firmware is best?
Brass tacks here, Im pretty techie minded when it comes to pc's and following instructions, whats the chances of me absolutely fucking this up? are there many factors that can go wrong? and is xbox live affected?
