can someone post the demonoid file elsewhere? for some reason everytime i've ever tried to use something from demonid, its claimed i've alrdy used all three.

It does
If you kill enough pirates then you'll incline towards the bounty hunter/mercenary class and then in almost every system some pirates attack you. Of course you'll get paid for blasting those annoying mosquitos to smithereens but believe me....it gets repetitive.

True, but if you update to 1.1 (SOMEHOW! that's the annoying bit now how to do that!) it will fix this.
"Der Ruf „Pirat“ ist überarbeitet worden. Abschüsse von z. B. Piraten innerhalb von Storymissionen zählen nun nicht mehr beim Kopfgeldjägerruf mit. Der Ruf „Pirat“ kann nun besser erreicht werden und hat eine neue Auswirkung: Man ist Freund aller Piraten und wird daher von freien Piraten nicht mehr angegriffen (sofern man sie nicht selbst angreift)."
Basically what it says is
"if you shoot down Pirates within a mission it will not add to your headhunter score. The reputation or occupation as Pirate is easier to reach and has a new effect, you will be friends with all Pirates and all free Pirates will not attack you as long as you don't attack them"
I guess this fix in at least the Ger 1.1 would take out some of that repetitiveness.

I would say wait for a tetris release. RLD didnt fix all tages apis from what i see which is in my eyes also the reason why they need DVD.
1 TAGES API reads sector 14-17 from DVD
1 TAGES API reads sector 234276 from DVD
1 TAGES API reads something outside the RLD DVD image
So i think they just fucked it up as ASCARON is famous for hidden CRC checks (port royal 2), hidden CD Checks (anstoss 3,4,...) and hidden data reads (Sacred).
Most times they used exe external dlls for this
f.e.:
SACRED: granny2.dll
Anstoss: walhalla.dll, granny2.dll
Port Royal 2: granny2.dll
Sacred Underworld: granny2.dll, aim20.dll, aim40.dll, walhalla.dll
So dunno what this time used in DSO as i only got the exe/voyager.dll/org from GCW and not the game as its not sold in portugal yet but if some1 here can check his installation dir and see files named like this you can be sure it has hidden crc and cd check stuff.
Last time such stuff got proper cracked was immersion from what i can see on gcw but maybe i oversaw some from deviance(old), fairlight, reloaded.

isnt there any voiceacting in this game ? when i converted the game overwriting the sound, movies and global then i cant hear when ppl are speaking only text

Man I so wish for 1.1...at least. Getting frigging annoying as you probe deeper in to other systems. Jump, attacked, shoot, shoot, repair, jump, attacked etc etc. Otherwise this game is so simple and clear to play, so in the misery I do enjoy it sort a

Quite easy to upgrade to 1.1
Install the german game from clone, run the german 1.1 patch.
Done.
Not sure why people are asking about foolproof, you can't exactly go wrong here.
Use either DT 3.47 with virtual cd hide, or alcohol 120% virtual disk to run the game.
And since the english retail are 1.1 and the german retail are 1.1, theoretically the files when you move them should match up better. My detailed instructions a few pages back were based on 1.1 to 1.1

Yup, tried that done that...dont work on my machine for one reason or another. The minimage gives a wierd error when mounted.

If you use the global.res posted by ofcaah a while back you can update to 1.2 with no problems.
Text gets cut off in places but it's perfectly playable.

Still got the prob with the Mini Image though... I spent probably 4-5 H on sunday trying to fix it but to no go.
Ur saying that the MI from GCW is what you use...or? If you got another source or at least a filename I do the rest my self and give it another go

Am i the only one seeing the developments in copyprotection?!...games are more and more often released in a half done stage with an "internet required" stamp on them....just bcuz it AINT #"¤#"¤ done yet...the ultimate copy protection it has to be..."xqz mee yoda english" to release a halfdone game and "patch" it up to working within e few days after release seem more and more the rule than exception..am i wrong!??!

i did not change anything
i hardly ever reboot, but windows was acting up
so i rebooted, tried running the game and it start complaining about a copied game disc
i use the German version converted to English
with DT 3.47 and Prot Stop
i just did not reboot after removing DT4.03 and installing 3.47

another possible fix. i've done this, and the game loads, but i haven't played all the way thru, or tested for the missile bugs and what not.
credit - some guy named idontcare
well guys it seems that an alternate method of playing this game just surfaced... (no more jiggling stars, Prices are NORMAL, turrets will no longer lose aim, we will no longer be restricted to the first galaxy therefore we can finally go and meet jack ^^)
NOTE: I have yet to play the whole game... therefore i do not know if there are any further restrictions... This is NOT 100% tested... please let me know if there are any problems...
INSTALL IN THIS ORDER EXACTLY AND THE EXACT VERSIONS!!
1. Download the Reloaded version of the game and install it. (DO NOT APPLY THE RELOADED CRACK!!)
2. Download the following programs :
A) Daemon Tools v3.47 found at -> http://ww2.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils_8.shtml#DAEMON%20Tools (I did not check this method with daemon tools 4 but i had multiple confirmations that it works ONLY with daemon tools v3.47
B) Virtual CD Hide v1.0.0.4 found at -> http://ww2.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils_8.shtml#Virtual-CD-Hide
C) Darkstar One v1.1 German Patch 45mb found at -> http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/DarkStar-One-German-Patch.shtml (There are 2 Darkstar one 1.1 german patches the difference between them is their size... one is 77mb and the other 45mb... u need the 45mb one, Note that i didnt check the 77mb one so i dont know if it works.
D) DarkStar One [GERMAN] No-DVD/Fixed Image found at -> www.gamecopyworld.com
NOTE: IF ANY OF THE LINKS THAT I HAVE SUPPLIED ARENT WORKING THEN JUST GOOGLE AWAY AND SEARCH FOR THE STUFF theyre really easy to find.
3. Uninstall Daemon tools v4.03 or whatever version you have and install the 3.47 version, Unrar Virtual CD HIDE, unrar Darkstar_One_bended.rar(the mini-image) until you have the .MDF and .MDS files and mount the image with Daemon Tools 3.47 (Note: that an error will be displayed just press ok and ignore it)
4. Run the Darkstar One v1.1 German Patch and install it.
5. Now just start Virtual CD Hide and Right click the new tray icon that appeared and select hide all virtual drives.
6. mount the RELOADED DVD image into Daemon tools and browse it and find a directory called EXE for example: on my pc my virtual drive is "G:\" so i had to go to "G:\EXE\" within that directory there should be a file called "WalPlugSpace.wex" you copy that file into your game directory overwriting the old one... remount the mini-image and thats it!! lets hope we can finally play this piece of crap with no more problems lol...
7. Enjoy
P.S No need to download the torrent, its just a .TXT file containing the same text as the description.

Alright so i found out how to fix the scrambled text problem... BUT there might be another problem... after playing for about 20 minutes the screen got totally black for some reason... i think its either my video card or my RAM tho since ive been screwing with them for over 5 days now so i dont think any of you guys should have this problem ^^ just follow all the steps i wrote and all should work just fine hf

The black screen thing where everything dissapears except the shield/weapon status indicaters on top right, can easily be fixed. Just alt tab out and after a few secs alt tab back in.
