just played it i liked the combat and the movement but the game is very linear i dont know why people compare this to oblivion totally different games. Demo was short but I enjoyed it ran smooth on my rig but bogged down in fights.

i wasnt comparing oblivion game to DM but the combat is similar.
The demo is about 10-20mins long i guess. Much shorter than it should be for a 1.4GB dl.

Yep, thats the biggest and SHORTEST demo I ever played. Graphics is...well, so so i must say. Gameplay not to bad, alot of physics to play with but...well I will whait for the full game. I have to say this but, Gothic 3 is out in early October and thats the one that will stick.

Hmmm good question...I feel it was all to blocky, now you will ask what does that mean. Well having played Oblivion and seen Gothic 3 vids...it just feels to crude, at least the demo did. The fighting is sure better then most RPG's but it just that...well feeling of blockiness...no refinement sort a. I cant say it better that that sorry. Its sort of reminds me of gothic 1-2 graphically sort a. Textures are ok but its just the movements and the way the characters move. I am sure it will be ok when its out, but the demo was a not really what I expected.
The demo ran really smooth on my rig, no problem what so ever.
7800GTX 512mb, 2 g ram, AMD 4000+ etc etc. |

Damn this game is crap, i'd rather play vampire bloodlines for a source rpg, this is a sad excuse for a oblivion copy.

well graphics arent everything oblivion proved that. Graphics are a great bonus if the gameplay is up to par otherwise they are a bloody waste.
I'd rather play dark messiah than oblivion. After a few days play of oblivion i was starting to get bored of it. i stopped playing oblivion altogether after a month on my hdd.
I loved dark messiah demo i wanted to play more. I will be buying this game at release.
I think its a much better game.

The screenshots doesnt really do the game justice, you have to see it in action. It's just awesome, the source engine is really awesome! The HDR looks fantastic.

Good gameplay but I have this issue, I set GFX to medium-high @1024x768 (a LOT lower than my Half-Life 2 Episode 1 settings, could set it to high - 1280x1024???) ,game runs smooth but some parts are just slideshows, when I look at my feet it's normal and then I look up and it's 3-4fps? I don't know what's causing this???

Because it's inevitable
I didn't wanted to compare with Oblivion at first either but since it feel like a more arcadish version of it i cannot say otherwise.
The basis of the game is the same : first person action/RPG when it come to moving and combat.Expect people to at least compare them on that aspect.

try set Shader settings to low
