S.T.A.L.K.E.R is very alive and in development. As had been said the releasedate is set for Q1 2007 and hopefully they will meet that one...

You can't call it official if the admin that posted it called it "the current speculated stats"...

I'm positive bout the minimum specs falling since it should be pretty scalable.

Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz as minimum requirement? Never! That's so unrealistic. Maybe an Athlon XP 2400+ (and it wouldn't surprise me if it's even lower).

Witch rock have you been living under? Have you seen the game?

Idont find it impossible, that those are the minimum req.

Those requirements don't suprise me, but I am a bit dismayed that we're already at the point where dual-core processors are recommended spec.

damn so much fanboism for a COMPUTER GAME!
wth do you all think that this game will require anything more than todays solid midrange computer to run smoothly on medium+ quality? the most demanding features of this game can already be found in oblivion, hitman blood money and SCCT. it was EXACTLY the same thing with oblivion -every moron was running to the store to buy alienware PCs for it and in the end i could run it smooth on radeon 9800 pro with althon xp 2500+. Dynamic Day/Night Cycle - oblivion

Sunrays and Diffuse Transmission - from what i read about it its pretty much the same as HDR -oblivion, SCCT

Depth of Field - hitman blood money

Ambient Maps - SCCT

Advanced Shader Technology (-sm4) - oblivion, SCCT.

other "revolutionary" features can be found in other old games and/or are not demanding on the system.

please feel free to correct me if im wrong.

BTW - thx for the videos to the guy above.

where did i ever mention dx10? i was talking about the hardware that would be needed to run the game on MEDIUM-HIGH settings IN DX9 MODE. im fully aware that the hardware needed to run this game on max settings does not even exist yet BUT you should have no problem running this game if you have a decent computer, today. besides - dx10 is supposed to IMPROVE speed for those who are capable of using it not the other way around.

ok, let me put it this way - do you know of any taxing dx10-only features in crysis?
as far as i know, dx10 (in crysis) is just a speed boost for those who can use it but it won't add any new, demanding graphical candy feature to the game, it would just allow the old ones to preform better.

anyway, the good new's are that it will work on windows xp with directx 9.

i heard rumors that this game will run only under vista and direct x 10 - but if we think of it:how many users will have system like that ? right! not mutch - so they will loose money lol

thats why it will run on regular machines with win xp and direct x 9Smile

God those screen are great. I'm disappointed in the making it for PS3. How often do we get PC only games. Anywho I remember in one of the videos one of the crytek guys was saying Crysis was staying PC cause they want to get teh point across that pc is next gen. looks like they changed their minds. anywho, I think I'll wait for this game to come out for me to build my next computer Very Happy Isn't nvidia currently working on quad gpu cards?

I think it will be like Far Cry Instincts on Xbox, not quite the same. And I am sure that Crysis will be exclusive for PC for at least a year, since they just recently started hiring PS3 programmers.. there is no way they can get it done in time for consoles as you well know.
