X3 has issues with some codecs or something. videos play back choppy or freeze, but 3d polys are fine.
on the forums, there is an incremental fix to the exe 1.403a, but it won't work obviously uncracked.
do any of your x3 vets know more about this? or what codec is used for the vids?

i'm getting the same problem here..i didn't use to get this a while back with the SFclone but i don't think that's the problem..in fact if u go to \..\X3 Reunion\MOV\ and open the file 00144.dat with media player or even bsplayer u'll get no problems, the sound plays fine (and videos also if u try other files there)..but if u try it with powerDVD u'll get the same choppy effect as in the game..u can try it with a couple more vids there and the problem persists on powerdvd..
so i suppose this is some codecs issue..didn't invest much time trying to figure out wich ones thou..

If it is a codec problem try using the K-Lte codec packs, either the 'mega codec pack' or the 'K-Lite codec pack. They both have some popular and frequently used codecs inside and are very useful for video playback also.
Myself I use the 'Mega codec pack'.

Codec packs have only ever caused me issues, mainly with games. I dont bother with them anymore, just xvid,quicktime,powerdvd,Ac3 filter. If needed realplayer. No issues with games.

i noticed other issue/l when i play and fly ,there are wingmans and commanders who contact with me with small window and i can see them talking ,but can't hear them:( only after few things they say i can hear the end of it...like disanchronization.
