Those force powers are insane though. If you recall the movies, yoda was shitting his pants just lifting an x-wing, and force pushes were enough to knock a few people over, not send them flying into the air.

It'll be fun to be so uber, but it isn't exactly faithful to the movies.

lol watch star wars clone wars, and then doubt yoda's power again Razz

It seems that this is a Tech demo showing off what can be done on next gen console, although a game is in production, and this is an early showing of how it may look, there is a large chance the force powers seen in this movie will NOT be in the actual game. They were added to the tech demo to show off the consoles power, not to show off the game.

What they describe there sounds completely different from what we saw. And how could it be a techdemo, when LucasArts itself said its just a pre-visualization

But in the end they write:
Quote:
Finally, we saw a CG concept trailer that indicated the direction LucasArts wants to go with this new game. The footage showed a number of unnamed Jedi characters essentially obliterating groups of stormtroopers and the environments around them with Force powers, sundering the ground and nearby objects and sending the bodies flying with mere thought.

that must be the one we have seen

note the words "CG concept trailer"
The tech demo was an "interactive tech demo", not trailer

First they played tech demo about what engine can do or whatever, then they showed CG trailer. and the trailer is supposed to give us some idea what the game will be like. more or less

So I'd say there definately will be Force powers

Thanks captain obvious. If there are jedi in the game there are force powers.
here is something you can add to your repetoire: The Sky is blue.

The trailer is supposed to sell you on the game as are rendered screenshots. They're very rarely indicative of whats in the game unless its specifically listed as "Gameplay footage". http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/manifesto.html see point 3.

Yeah as someone said, when it comes to two Jedi's fighting, as long as they are concentrating on each other they can resist force powers. Unless of course one Jedi is far more powerful then the other. If you notice in the films, the only time a Jedi successfully uses a force power against another Jedi is when one of them is distracted or they have been stunned in the middle of a battle. Using the force is exhausting too.

Also, they need to be able to deflect projectiles.

LOL, more detail then you needed but so what. Smile

As far as I know, this isn't a game. It's just a tech-demo showing what their new engine is capable of processing. Hopefully they'll use a version of this engine for Knights of the Old Republic 3 <made by BioWare>.

But I'm not sure, let's hope it's a game Smile

Thank you crossmr! I never stated there would be NO force powers, that would be silly. I was simply trying to point out that the video/demo was used to show the power of the machine it was running on, and did not reflect how powerful the actual game force powers would be.. Maybe it does, but the fact that most people are reacting with "wow those are some crazy powerful force powers" only solidifies my thoughts.

For once more Razz
This video is not a tech demo. It's a CG trailer that shows what they are trying to achieve in this game.
And sYn said "there is a large chance the powers won't be in the game".
If what we saw in the video is what they are aiming for in the game, there is a 0 chance of powers not being in final game. That's what I was trying to point out. Embarassed sry if my english is not good enough..

Fat chance, I read in a games magazine that Bioware does not make sequels anymore, only new games.
