Useless motherfucking pos 9700. I swear, I love and fucking hate this thing. I bought it when it came out (like 3 years ago, paid top dollar) and I've had to watch & feel it slowly degrade and get outdated so slowly and painfully. Every new game, every couple of months, settings go down a notch, my once beautiful card can only run prey decently on 1024x768.
Also this one in paticular is very dodgy, it is completley passively cooled (fucking huuuuge heatsink, came that way, the weight used to pull it out of the agp slot) and the power connector on the back of the card is very dodgy nowadays. It was beautiful back in the day, with the socket A boards (9x00/barton was a killer combo back then), my proccy died recently, overheated last summer had to replace it (cheap-cheap 754 board + sempy) and now I think there's something wrong with my 9700.
Again.
Motherfucking fucker. Remind me, why do I put up with this shit? ah yeah, poor ass student.
best bang for my buck upgrade seems socket 754 pci-e board with 7600gt.
siigggghhhh. gotta make some real moonnneeeyyyy!!!

I have to agree with Whoknows on that one. Back in the day I used to read the manuals on the games from cover to cover. Now I just look for the key if theres one.

I still love my 9500Pro
works like a charm even if it's overclocked to 310 MHz core speed and my room temp. is about 32°C

3 years is quite along time in pc terms.
i once had an 8500 for so long i ended up playing games at 800x600 @ lowest settings and only got 30fps lol was painful but did the job till i upgraded.
last system i built almost 2 years ago is still going strong , gotta love x800's can still play pretty much everygame at 1024x768 with all settings on high aslong as i dont use AA.
going to make it last until dx10 cards have been out 2-3months if possible.
btw it makesyour apreciate your upgrades alot more if you keep your hardware about aslong as possible aswell.
i could afford to upgrade every year if i wanted to but seeing as theres not many great pc games these days i dont bother, no point spending £1000+ to build a new pc for around 5 really awesome games a year
