I'm having problems myself, first with alcohol 120% which I fixed now, no Installshield based installer works as it says on the list. This is very frustrating!

That's what probably causing my The Suffering patch not to work. It uses Installshield. They better fix these problems.

Great. Got another problem with it. Went to go and add songs to my Dell DJ and when I go to portable device manager it keeps coming up Nero Fast CD-Buring Plug-in. Check the list and yep Musicmatch Jukebox is on the list. Thanks M$. Next time fix the bugs BEFORE you release it!!! Is there anyway I can go back to SP1?

Messenger plus! 3 (latest) is messed up two. After using messenger with the this addon it just hangs and becomes unusable and U have to reinstall everything.
That's not the worst part. The worst part is that they have included a new security hole with the "no execute" feature that prevents buffer overrun attacks. These guys never get anything right. It's ridiculous. All these delays and this is what they come up with. Bleeeh.

OK guys. Fire up your internet explorers and go to Windowsupdate. First hotfix for SP2 is out.
Quote: | Microsoft has released the first hotfix for SP2, even before it's long-awaited massive upgrade patch has fully been distributed to all users. The new hotfix is aimed at an IP address connection issue which surfaced shortly after SP2 had made it's debut.
Rob Enderle, principal analyst for technology analysis firm The Enderle Group, stated, "Writing software is a complicated endeavor done by humans, [and] we don't see SP2 as the be-all and end-all, that there will no longer be a need for future patches."
The new hotfix for SP2 patches a problem that the service pack created for some users of virtual private networks (VPN). Though the problem pertains to only a small amount of XP and SP2 users, Microsoft was quick to release the first of what is sure to be several more hotfixes.

edit: Here's a direct link as the update doesn't seem to have reached windows update yet. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;%5bLN%5d;884020

With so much problems listed..
I might as well stick with SP1 and use 3rd party s/w..
Just need those critical patches than having the new Security Panel..

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this hotfix.
LOL. They recommend waiting for the next service pack. When's that? 2 years?

Been using it for 3 months, 3 different versions(RC2, 2162, final) on 5 computers with different roles (home/game, work/office, work/graphics/dtp, etc.) -- absolutely no problem, rock solid performance. We found the DivX bug on one of our PCs, now waiting for DivX to fix it. As Symantec has released the patch for Antivirus Corp, now we don't have to turn of the antivir monitoring, so we don't have the annoying 'your pc is at risk' icon on the systray... Bleargh.
I can only recommend it.
