I have a small problem. I capture some TV show and save it in MPEG format. The problem is that it has 2 commercials in the middle of show and I have to delete them without having to reencode MPEG to DivX or XviD. Is it possible and how?

Thank you in advance. Very Happy

Can't you just use Vdub?

http://www.virtualdub.org/index Confused

You have an uncompressed file and you wish to edit it w/o compressing it in the firstplace?
Is that right? Try Vdub. Should do the trick.

It's not uncompressed, it's in MPEG format and when I need to save it, it asks me what compression do I want to use. If you know what I mean?

Aren't there many programs to cut and join video files without compressing or recompressing them?

I know you can cut and paste xvid avis together, so I don't see why not for MPEG.

Isn't there a direct stream copy option in virtualdub so you don't recompress anything?
