Yes! it works!!
I've used a part of NeHoMaR's solution:
First of all I didn't apply the ReTarded crack.
I dowloaded the mini-image from gamecopyworld and used CureROM 2.0.3 (had to make a profile where DT is loaded with all options on, only in the profile, don't touch daemon tools!)
It made a shortcut to my desktop with a loader or something.
the game didn't crash and I've played for one hour or something (without crash at the end) befor its crashed every 5min.

I solved it by reinstalling, not using the crack. downloading the mini-image from gamecopyworld.com. mounting that in DT4, no emulation, and used ASR (SecureROM Loader 1.2) to start the game.
Played around 10-12h now without any problems at all, no sound-glitches no nothing.
Hope it works for some of you.
This was the Reloaded release, not using any compatibility mode or prot.stop. just did exactly what i wrote. |
Tried that solution, and it only half worked lol, but mow my crashes doesn't freeze my comp, it just throws me back out to the desktop, which leads me to believe its a problem with the game itself, and not reloaded or anything. Here's hoping for a patch very soon

Well, I use the reloaded crack and I have turned off all virutal drives and exited DT, works pretty well. Crashes from time to time but so far my characters have remained playable.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE USING A PC WITH A PENTIUM 4 PROCESSOR HYPERTHREADING ENABLED.(i. e. HT TECHNOLOGY)
OKay here is what I found on a forum which is very likely to solve random crashed of virtual memory. So there apparently is no problem with the reloaded 's release or crack or serials.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\"USER NAME HERE"\My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\Settings\options.txt
open that with an text editing software such as notepad as default and change the last command which says
forceSingleProcessorMode = false
to
forceSingleProcessorMode = true
this will force your CPU to use single processing mode avoiding memory conflicts.
save the txt and enjoy the game!
this solved the problem for me for example when trying to get out of the cave in one of earlier quests.

BTW this might not always work for example at the start of the game when loading, so you might have to manually do this. Run the game and and press ALT + TAB to go to desktop. Press ALT+CTRL+DEL to go to task manager. Find Titan Quest.exe there and right click on it. Go to affinity and mark off one of the CPUs (0 or 1).

NOOOOOO! back to crashes guys, worked for a while but cant get back to my char again. sucks! is anyone having problems with the UNLEASHED release?

i had lots of random crashes before i played with windowed mode.
but still have certain, specially in the portal villige area, lagging probelm but no crashes..

Well people, tomorrow it's patch day. I just hope the patch is released when I get home from work (I live in Sweden, +1 GMT) because I have been looking forward to this patch more than the game itself =)
If everything works out nice, we will never talk to eachother again, until next game that is... Good luck tomorrow everyone, especially everyone working on the patch =)

I Know! I hope the patch is not delayed as this game has some seroius compatibility issues. I have been now successful in playing the game for a while with no crashes, running the game under single-cpu and windowed mode.

OK so I did everything which Stanni said, reinstalled RLD version, got the working mini image from GCW, used securom stopper, mounted image, used ASR to load the game, all worked fine. I have a P4 HT processor so i also set the force single processor to true in the options.txt file. The game loaded (it always crashed when i tried to load my game before, well, most of the time) and it actually worked. I thought these other guys were right and this really fixed the situation, but as soon as i used a portal to Helos and went into it, the game crashed during the loading of Helos.
Now im not sure if my save game got completely fucked when i was using reloaded's crack and was having MANY crashes all the time because whenever id load my game recently, the areas ive been to show up as gray on the map (as if i havent been there before) and the enemies, items, and even chests which i have opened already are back as they were when the game first started. So maybe the game IS running fine now i just need to start a new game because the previous crashes really fucked up my savegame and its still fucking up my game when i load. Anyone else get this issue of areas youve been to returning to their original state when you load your game?
Im still hoping for a real fix from IronCrap and hope what they promised, that all save games will work fine after the patch, is going to be true. If not i think this ill mock this game up to being another diablo-like hack and slash which could have had potential but failed on a technical level and uninstall. That would be too bad because this game reminds me of Nox, another hack and slash from a few years ago, which I thought was rather well made and more fun than diablo... at least I thought so.
...and now onto Prey!!

I didn't told you to use ASR 
just curerom and make a profile
