Just installed it : install size is 1.57 Go (cuz these are mainly already compressed .pk4
files linked to doom3 engine)

Just did an "Orca" on the installer....has "MASTER" in info line....MASTER means MASTER...used to press RETAIL...end of story!!

Yes, the call back can be prevented by such an edit in the host file. but the fact that it's out now and a call-back is the only protection and a...less populr group releases it (with a real sloppy NFO, btw) makes it appear to be beta even more. It's pretty common for a beta to have no copy protection, have a call back system, have a real simple serial, if any, (btw; do NOT post serials here!) and be rather on the small size. I say beta, because of this, but also because I've read those were the beta files released today (which is odd, since the thing went gold a few days ago).
Either way, I don't think the NFO should be on the site yet, unless there's solid proof this one is final. Anyone?

1) All filedates after GOLD (Means FINAL)
2) Epsilon said it too
3) Doesn't have beta tags etc
4) Fill in the rest yourself

But what do you mean by 'filedates are gold'? I mean...how do you see that? And who's epsilon?

I didn't said filedates are gold, I said the filedates are AFTER gold, gold=final, then the product is ready. The filedates are around 28-06. Well, that is AFTER the gold announcement, so the game is final. That's point 1.
Epsilon is poster here too.

Hmmmm, I see I've misread something once again. Sorry. But the funny thing is, I've heard that those are the beta files released today (like I said in my previous post). I'm getting this one myself...will see how it looks.

here is the deal straight from MDAtje themselves:
DVD is gold version
they had it on 29th last month
this is AS GOOD AS RETAIL
minor bugs might still exist that might just get fixed in retail
so you wont be able to use patches on this
but the story line is done and all graphics are available
so game is FULL
but not RETAIL (hence why gold aint same as retail
