am i the only one getting this error or is this game just too new?

im using 1280x1024@32bit on an nvidia 7600 card and a gamepad for this game .. starting works fine .. no problems at all

then ill get to see the V4/loading-screen and after loading is done (i think so) i get to see the desktop again. no error msg. nothing. game is gone - desktop is here!

how to solve that?
i hope at least somebody knows how to fix this since i couldnt even find a micro machines forum on the net, codemasters offers no support forum and the official site is flash only Sad

gfx drivers are up to date, directx 9.0c is installed, also tried to run the game on 800x600@32bit but still no luck. btw: looks like 32bit is the only option since theres no 16bit offered :/
