The last time I saw my GP (UK) was 7 years ago due to hayfever : ) I have friends who will see their doctors every few weeks for things like hadaches (minor things) probaly because they are so scared to die, never asked. Anyway when was the last time you went to see your doctor? perhaps any interesting stories you may want to share with us?

I have a girlfriend that drives me nuts with all her stupid medications and doctor visits. She can't even get rid of her own bloody wart by herself. She gets a tiny cold and or a little pain she is running off to the doctor. It’s an abuse on our medical system. I think she does it for attention. It makes her feel special or something.

I went to my GP maybe 3 months ago. Usually to refill a prescription for an stomach ulcer. It is really hard to find a good GP here. Mine is good now but I before using clinics and they suck out here.

A few yrs agoI got food poisoning really bad, so bad that by day 5 I stopped drinking as well. I asked my guy to take me in because I couldn’t drive but he didn’t think I was that bad. Thought I was a big faker I guess. So I walk over there sick as a dog. I get to the front desk and the loser receptionist is putting on some gross dirty lip gloss. I started to see these little flashy lights and I went down like a rock. Hitting my head on the counter as I went. Next thing I wake up and she is there over me. It was so embarrassing. Anyway, I ended up in the hospital. Fucking worse Hospital in all of BC with one bathroom in the emerge room. And some junkie has shit all over the place in it and no one came to clean it up. I had to take myself there (actually my parents did) but really the clinic should not of let me go, they should of called an ambulance. Bunch of idiots

Nope that doesn't count.: ) Here in London most of the GPs don't know anything. It is really difficult to find a good one. Maybe I'm wrong because I never had to go to a GP but that's what I heard from people. It's the same with the solicitors, it is very rare to find a good one unless it's a private one. Does anyone know why? As long as I know they both get paid.

A friend of my father who is from Canada once said that going to the doctor in Canada is fairly difficult as due to the governmental public medicine system, the waiting lines are very long and even for a blood test you have to wait a week or so.

Hard to get a good GP and specialists have are long waits. People with cancer sometimes don't even make it long enought to get the MRI to diagnose. Surgery waiting lists are really long. That was why I always went to some street clinic where I could tell them what I need. Bloodtests are fine tho. You get a rec from your doctor and stop in at any private lab the same day. Busy day might have to wait 20-30 min. Your doctor gets the results 2-3 days, 1 day sometimes if it is urgent by phone. The lag there is because of the doctor, not the lab. Emerge situations in a hospital you get the results in a couple of hours depending on the test.

But hey if you got some bucks you can always use the Mayo clinic down in the states.

I think that preventing private public medicine clinics from opening up only to preserve some social values is prety awkward. The canadian medical system only looses money to the US with all the wealthy people who prefer paying there instead of waiting in Canada.

The last time I went to doctor I had to tear out the tooth. When she did that she said that 'my tooth smells like a dead rotten body and she never encountered that before'.

I saw him last summer, with hayfever. Went back this year with it, and got new stuff to take. I also asked him to remove a mole, he said he wouldn't, I told him I didn't like it, and he said it didn't matter.
I plan to go private.

about 4 years ago i went because i broke my collar bone. i had to drive myself to the hospital.

but thinking back, i didnt even need to go. All the doctor did was give me an x-ray, tell me it was broken, which i already knew, then sent me home. the perkaset was the only good thing that came out if it.
