I loved this movie.

I'm sad that they cut out so much though... Apparently there was a lot more material from when he was in the village with the blind woman, which was one of the few things I would have critiqued about the movie...
The finale is simply amazing.... great choreographing, superb musical score, and very moving.
Anyone want to recommend any other good Martial Arts flicks?
I loved this one, Fists of Legend, Once Upon a Time in China, Legend of Drunken Master, and others...
This should be floating around btw

he was in the village for about 15 minutes worth of screen time... cant really see the benefit there would be to the film to have MORE blind chick interaction... i feel what was said and shown was more than enough.
having said this, why bring this up now, its been around for a while, it was 'released' in march...
anyway, it is a really good film, had some excellent fights, and overall one of li's better films.

Agrred, good movie. Saw it a while back, region 3 release I believe.
It is said that there is a director's cut coming later that adds 40 minutes. I think Michelle Yeoh is supposed to be in new version a lot.

40 minutes would probably damage it i think... the movie was perfect as it was, i dont feel adding anything more too it would make the film more rewarding.

Yeah thats the one I watched with english subtitles. Are there any dubbed english language versions? The movie is due in the cinemas here soon and I was wondering if that would be subtitled.

hope its subbed, because this is a reasonable serious film, and 80% of dubbed films look comical

I bring this up now because I had never heard of it until the preview for its release in America was shown.... Sigh.
And apparently people who saw the longer version liked the movie a lot more... Not only did they cut out some of the story, but a fight scene with a thai boxer, and several other things...
