Had some troubles getting it running smoothly but after following the suggestions from nvnews I get a consistent 60-70 fps with all eye candy. If you have the money get the Dell 30" LCD and the 7950s in quad sli, this is gaming bliss. Will definitely buy the full game when its out. |
funny thing is it runs maxed out with all the eye candy here with one gfx card at 60fps you do know that prey is capped at 60fps right?

Yeah. Runs smoother than Doom 3 did.

Yea, the kids part surprised me quite a bit. And what an achievement if it wont interfere with the rating.

Don't be so sure about it. It's a 2K game after all.

It's cool to see that the doom3 engine is still visually stunning two years after the engine was done. Human Head has done a way better job with the textures than ID ever did with crappy Doom3. I love the wallwalking and gravital shifts in the level as well as spirit walking, it allows for some refreshing level design.
After playing through the demo, I have to disagree, this does not feel quite the same as Doom3 or Quake4. It's a different universe, and playing through the levels feels just more because of the new features integrated into it.
Sure, you can say this is a clickathon-game. But you can narrow just about any game FPS down to that (even HL2, to you fanboys) if you think about it that way. It's a generic sci-fi shooter, but it does introduce some new features.
Looking forward to the full game, but not like it is the end of the world.

The game reminds me a lot of Duke Nukem 3D. If DNF is anything like this, it's gonna be good!
