Well, just heard about this from a friend that works at a gameshop and he claims it's not fake. He also ordered some chips.
Maybe this one's finally for real? I think not, what do you guys think?

It's most probably real, the chip's just patching the DVD drive's firmware on the fly with the commodore4eva-type code instead of flashing the firmware. Quite neat, and potentially less risky than flashing the drive I guess (if you're good at soldering!), but I assume it's just as fixable with a live update. It might be tempting to get if nothing better looks like it's coming out.

still not THE modchip
regions are still a issue
you need to download a region free game
otherwise there is a chance it wont work.
so a FW patch is not the mod we need
not the way the games are currently released

Who says that regions are still an issue? The don't talk about it on their website so it might be solved. I guess time will learn.

Well, people, over at xbox-scene, we see some screenshots of Xbox homebrew running on an Xbox360 - I think we'll be seeing something very soon. Will it be Devil360, or something else?
The NME-360 from the Underdog site is not a "real" modhip, per se.... it's a variation of the DVD hack, which if it's for real, would still be a nice thing to have.
At any rate, I'm looking forward to homebrew on the Xbox 360!!

that might well be a software hack , that uses the xbox game emu files that the 360 needs for backward compatablity. Time will tell
