ppl from Ecuador you ask? hmmm... well... they are nice! They don't have a good reputation? hehe... kinda banana republic? well, are not the only ones... for myself Bolivia and Peru have a far worse reputation than Ecuador. Ecuador are friendly ones. Peru and Bolivia shows a lot of hostility against Chile.... but anyway, is a safe neighborhood.

as with violence and kidnappes here we have the problems every big city or country has. no kiddnappers... (i mean, yeah, but it happens once a year and is big new on every paper).

still... democracy in our latin countrys are understanded by politicians as some sort of buisness.
its quite funny, because, for exapmle, Chile, the only stage in history that growed and florished its economy was during a military dictature back in the 80s... and now we have politicians again, and the same ones that led the country into bankrupcy and claimed for a military intervention... and everything is more fucked up... they simply steal money, and the citizens here (the majority) are so dumb, they just don't see it. (besides they make buisness with their cousins and mates on the power)...

and Chile is supposed to be as an example on how to grow quick for other latin countrys.
well... i can't blame that much thoo... i work hard and have a good life. same for every other country.

I think its like that in alot of countries. You work hard and you'll live decently.
Alot of ppl are lazy it seems and dont understand the concept of hardwork.

It seems everyone bitches about workin hard nowadays. Workin hard and earning your money is satisfying imo.

nouse... i don't get your example that much... in any case THIS is exactly what im talking about.. at the end is a good buisness between the authorities and their friends.
Bolivia is quite different from Chile tho... privatizations here aren't a big trouble since years. i would say everything is private now, and it works fine. the companys or public stuff that reminds propiety from the state, are well... a hole of corruption.
don't take me wrong. im not saying that everything has to go private. i don't share the belivieng that keeping highways private is a good thing... i believe that highways have to remain public, for example...

Bolvia, to return to your example, has privatized some days ago all natural gas companies. what have the bolivian citizen gain with this? NOTHING. the politicyans are putting their retarded friends as head of the new state companies... (besides of the problem created by the expropiation, in which they haven't pay the legitimate owner of the company, even if it was a bolivian one)...

that used to happen in Chile some 30+ years ago.
corruption in Chile is high, not as high as in Bolivia or Peru, but is more profitable, even as the rank is not that high, because Chile produce far more of anything than our neighbors, with the exeption of course, from Argentina, who got 4x our population, but are bankrupted anyway... Razz

I know.

You know what im saying tho? Those type of ppl who constantly bitch about everything at work? whether your in trades or an office, there are always those ppl around. Constantly bitching about being tired and having to much work and needing time off and bitching about the boss etc etc
Those ppl piss me off.

Who cares if your work gives you a shitload of work...a person can only do so much in one day. Why let it bother you? Why bitch about having to work? Most ppl have to work for a living you know?

I have friends like that. Always complaining about work. I dont understand it. Your at work for 8 hours (sometimes more depending on your job/responsibilities), do what your told you know?

I know exactly what you mean. I find my GF bitches too much about her job, although most of it is because she deals with the public (she works at a courthouse in hamilton). They are way understaffed and place a high load on the people working there, so it stresses her out.

I never complain about working hard ... it's called being ambitious Very Happy No point complaining about your job ... it'll just make you crazy and ruin other (more important) aspects of your life. Smile

You guys never had a real shitty job there you work your ass off and get a joke as a paycheck. I had such a type of job for over a year, i was paid for 21h a week and worked for about 60, it ruined my life because i was working most of the time, so there was no other life than that.

Maybe it's the different working cultures, but the one in Germany has definatly gone down the drain since the early ninetees (incidentally the time the Ossis flodded West Germany :/ ). Take our new union deal for example. if i'm unlucky i get about 30% less paid for the same work i'm doing, you wouldn't complain about that? I love my job right now, but if they really cut my pay that bad i will leave, so please you two stfu Razz Wink

There's a difference between unneccessarily bitching about your job, and real grievances (like the ones you mentioned). Your union sounds like they don't really do anything for you, or are ineffective at getting their workers good wages.

If someone told me to work 21h and get paid for 60, or that they were going to cut my salary by 30% ... I'd kick them in the balls and quit. Very Happy (ok, maybe not kick them in the balls, but you get my point).

If you need to constantly complain about your job, you need to figure out why you're doing it in the first place and either 1) quit 2) stfu and live with it Razz

One where the manager preffered it if people didnt talk, I tried to say something then got told the 'rules' from a fellow co-worker. When I left I didnt leave any friends behind as I hadnt had the oppotunity to talk.
Another job where the manager was a complete bitch..she found out a co-worker had a mortgage, the folowing month she cut his salary!

Yes Chilli is like Aussie land. It is in the southern hemiphere so everything is backwards. This also includes the toilet when you flush. Water and crap goes down the drain in a different direction. Anit cyclone effect.

Yeah! it's the closest country ton Antartica! Also, we have the southern city, called "Puerto Williams" in the so called "Patagonia" land (shared with Argentina), where the "Patagon" indians used to live. (Patagon means "big foot"), they've got an amazingly large foot. Also is known as "Land of Fire" because when the brittish arrive they saw the coast at night because of the multiple fires the indians made to warm themselves.
Only a few of those indians remains.
The land there is very beatifull. Lots of isalnds, fiords, bush, sea channels, amazing mornings and evenings, whales, flora and fauna...

but damn cold there! like -20ºC in this station of the year.

pistol.. you watched that simpsons episode? Very Happy

1.331 KM per liter!!! amazing!!

Quote:
Students at the University of British Columbia handily trounced competitors in this year’s SAE Supermileage Competition, using their superior engineering kung-fu to achieve over 3,000 mpg in a car they designed and built. The competition pits smartypants against propellerhead to see who can best expand the efficiency of an internal combustion engine, and the UBC has won in four out of the six competitions it’s entered. Employing principals of aerodynamics, weight reduction, and drawing on Canada’s storied advancements in dildonics, the team thrusted to victory, despite a diminutive 54cc unit.

hahahahahahah dildonics!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

and whoa, it's kinda small Wink

The UBC design, which required the driver to lie down while navigating it, achieved 3,145 miles per US gallon (0.074 litres/100 km) -- equivalent of Vancouver to Halifax on a gallon (3.79 litres) of gas -- costing less than $5 at the pump.
