I think it's been about two years since I've been having these extreme mood swings, and lately they seem to appear more often and more powerful. This used to happen once in a month or two but now it's like every week...

For example, I wake up one day and I'm feeling fine, really focussed, then for no big reason I feel very down, depressed or whatever you want to call it. EVERYTHING and everyone annoys me, I'm tired, I don't like the things I usually enjoy, and I'm extremely irritatible. Then the end of that same day I feel really positive and focussed, ambitious, just happy. Sometimes I even feel so positive I can't sleep, some weed or valium usually calms me down but I don't think it's the right solution if this is what I think it is..

Somebody in my surrounding usually triggers these swings, I feel like I want to punch their fucking brains in for something minor they say or do. Twisted Evil

Now i've been reading about Bipolar mood disorder (Manic depression) and it pretty much sums up what I just wrote above.

Is anyone suffering from this or can anyone tell me what the hell might be going on with me? Rolling Eyes

I know that feeling.
I don't think you need ADHD or anything to be like this.

1. do you take drugs (aslo medical) ?
2. do you eat lots of sugar?
3. got gf?

And don't read to much, and try to find and diagnose. There are one for everything these days.
Im not saying you are an hypochondriac or anything, just relaxe and hope its getting better.
I have periods im fucking upset with everything. I try to focus on whats good. But it aint much.
It makes me frustrated. Like everytime i was driking i was sad.. whatever i tought of. I just couldn't be happy. Took some weeks, and it got better. I think its all about trying to focus on whats good.

None of these three, I only use some daily medicine for Asthma and smoke weed from time to time, but it's nothing big.

What you say, it took you some weeks, is exactly how I used to feel a few years ago. I guess it's normal to feel down sometimes. But is it normal to change moods three times a day?

Bipolar disorder, as well as any mental illness are way more common and way more under-diagnosed than you'd think.

If I were you, I'd be asking my family physician instead of nforce nerds Wink

But seriously, most mental illnesses can be well controlled with medication. Believe me, doctors have heard everything, so it's nothing to be embarrassed about Smile

Probably this. Mood swing is a normal thing, but it might get heavier if drugs are used I think.

uhmm.. a year ago 've got the same "issue", but was completely fucked up because my g/f quitted with me, and i was making my uni. thesis, and other familiar shit.
so, i went to the psychiatrist and after analyzing a while she (she was a gorgeous girl) found me normal, and says that i was crossing trough a natural sadness that needs to settle, and in its natural brain process have to go away.

so it happens. after a month or so, was the same guy again. even my g/f came back... (i don't even missed her anymore...)

in that stage, i've got the same sympthoms as described by you..

big mood swings is something that come when you are 12-15 years old.
Wait a year or three, and see when you'll get some hair on you nuts.
It will stop around that time.

I hate you.

I'm 19, turning 20 this month. I think most psychological problems show up at late adolescence?

Anyway, it might just be nothing serious like some of you say, I don't know... It's not like I'm looking for a problem, it's been there for a while.

Females are always angry.
That's just the way it is.

I guess it's since they don't got any balls to get hair on.

What is your sleeping pattern like? Having an irregular sleeping pattern can result in mood swings.

@fey

I have mood swings all the time. I think its related to stress. You have one or two big issues on your mind and they affect other areas of your life. Even the most minor of things becomes annoying and your easily pissed off you know?

Sometimes i wake up and feel like a million bucks, like i just had some great morning sex. Other days, I can barely get outta bed because I feel so depressed and shitty.

I think its natural, to some extent. You cant always be happy and positive. I know I cant be...fuck, constantly happy people are annoying as hell to me as it is Laughing

Still, talk to your doctor. It could be a mild form of depression or it could be normal and a 'phase'.
Oh, and self diagnosis is dangerous man. Smile

Yeah I'm not really self diagnosing, just speculating Wink

@AnimalMother, my sleep pattern is a serious mess. I often go to bed at 6:00 AM and wake up at 3 PM. Good thing is tho that it's gonna have to change cause of work and school coming up Smile

That could be it then mate. I also have trouble keeping a regular sleeping pattern when i'm out of uni and don't have work.

You don’t really sound like you are bipolar mostly depressed. The last article I read said something like %50 of people suffer from some form of it.

You do need to see your doctor, there is lots of good medicine out there. I know tons of people who are on it. A good friend of mine I think is bipolar and she is finally getting help. When she is in the manic state it can be hard to handle, it’s almost like she is drunk.

Exercise is really good for depression. Sometime golf (driving range) is good too, especially if you are angry. I love to whack the fuck outta the golf balls. I love the sound it makes. It makes me happy.

Well, you can always turn to porno..

Porn can solve almost everything...Smile

Nah, but really. THink hard.. Hows everything around you, family, love, other shit.. There can be a "factor" for this, And you can find It..(Is there something in common now with before)

I dont think meds Is a good way to go, can fuck people up more than helping sometimes (though, theres good cases too ofc.)

But sit down and think about how life Is around you, a persons mood Is always based on their surroundings. And the problem may be there.. Not always very clear.. but Its there. Then take It from there..
A shrink can help maybe, personally I dont like 'em. Like to solve my own shit..

edit: BUT as AM said, the sleeping thing Is also something I would put my bet on. That shit can be very sensitive for some people. Smile When I saw that , I feel like erasing my whole post. I think Its the sleeping pattern.. So don't you worry man.

Sig too big.
