Hi,
dunno if its dupe, but with world cup event, I was searching for a way to watch world cup matches live from internet, since im at work.
BBC is now offering free broadcast, but u gotta be from UK. You can bypass the IP ban by finding a good anonymous http UK proxy. But those are rare, and often too slow for TV broadcast.
But recently i found a cool application called TVU Player. Several channels are available through this p2p broadcast application, among of them the famous ESPN, ESPN2 sports channels that broadcast live the worldcup.
If you need further info, and channel programs head to www.viidoo.com
All this stuff is free, and works like a charm from any part of the world you're from.
No need configuration, or modification of your system, it works off the bat.
of course if you are behind a corporate firewall or uni firewall, it require more stuff to do, but again it works very well. enjoy world cup matches

Sometime you just have to hate capitalism... or the lack of competition.

thanks for the only constructive post of this thread I know of those, but I wanted to watch the worlcup in english commentaries, and the application I mention in my first porst streams ESPN and ESPN2 (ABC sports) in full english, plus its very easy to use, u just install, select channel, and watch.

Isnt there an option to subscribe to the DC over the internet? I could have swore ive seen advertisements for that on the Discovery Channel.
Still, it may only apply for Discovery Channel Canada (and all the other DC's - health, kids, civilizations etc)
