Today at dinnertime me and 5 mates (4 guys 1 girl) were walkin down to town to get some dinner. As we got near the centre I looked back to see who was walking behind me and the guy was like 2 feet away and goes 'what u keep looking around for?' and i go 'this is the first time I'vel ooked back' then he goes 'well stop starin' and I go 'fair enough' and carried on walkin. Then he goes 'who are u?' and i go 'who are u?' and he pulls out the knife and goes 'u wanna find out who i am?'
I just went like pffft 'ur gonna stab me for lookin back?  and carried on walkin and that was it.
I'm so surprised tho because although I was ready to protect and defend myself, I didn't get an adrenaline rush at all. Probably because the guy was a little faggot, even smaller than me, and I deffo coulda took him. But I never thought he was gonna stab me either, but wtf's the point in carryin a knife if you're gonna get it out in a situation like that? we woulda let him walk past (like u do) and that woulda been it. there was 6 of us and he still thinks he's a beast because he has a shitty 3 inch pen knife. Take a walk.

precisely. He was about 17/18, I didn't recognise him and I know most people in my town, and most know me or my bro's too. He was even smaller than me tho, it was right outside the place where I used to go boxing, so maybe that gave me the confidence I don't know

Maybe you could have taken him for sure if he didn't have a knife, but when it comes down to it all he needs is to get one stab in an you won't feel much like fighting any more.
I remember once I was walking back from a friends house rather late at night, and I walked past these two guys, about 18 years old sitting and drinking. Well I had walked about 10 feet past them, then one of them got up and asked for the time. I called it back to him, then he got out a knife and said:
"Give me your fucking wallet, NOW!", I said "What!?", he replied "You don't wanna mess with me mate, i'm fuckin crazy, i'll stab ya straight off!", So I said "You're gonna stab me from all the way over there?". So he started walking towards me and I backed off, maintaining the distance so he said "What, are you a fucking pussy!?". I said "You've got the fucking knife, whos's the real pussy?" So he started running towards me, and I ran away, so after about 15 metres he stopped chasing me, so I stopped running. I turned back to him and he said "I was only joking mate", "Whatever" i replied.
I reported it to the police straight after and they went and picked up the stupid fuck who was still sitting in the same spot and still carrying the knife. Because it was over 3 inches and he couldn't think of a reason for carrying it he was chared with possession of a deadly weapon. Stupid bastard.

Well exactly. that's why I didn't punch him. But I was ready to defend myself with confidence, weapon or not. I was in the zone and was deffo confident enough I coulda got the 2 strikes needed to take him down. I took my hands out of my pocket, and pushed my wallet down, and was ready with the backhand wrist to the face and then turn with my left (he was tot eh right of me). Either way he was a knob and if I saw him again i'd deffo jump him and take the knife off him for being a cheeky bastard and pulling a knife out on me like that. |

Thats what so tricky with fights nowadays..
Its not like In the old days, now Its all about knives and guns. Scary. (Not that we got so many people with guns where I live though.)

I think my self defense is good enough, made easier by the guy being weaker than me too. I think I coulda got the knife off him without putting myself in danger too, but there was no need for it in the end neway.

and you didnt think about grabbing the hand with the knife? he may be punk but never underestimate him, its not because you box that he cant evase your first punch and stab you or have a defence reflex with the hand he has the knife and and you end up htting the knife with your hand |

I totally agree with Godlikez and Snop1050.
Godlikez is right about you and your friends not being street smart. Why was that guy so close behind you anyway. You should always know who is behind you. You don’t usually even have to turn around in the city. You check out the reflections on building, shadows on sidewalks, and you don’t antagonise them by trying to prove your point.
3 inches is enough to do serious damage to your neck. Carotid artery. A small pen knife can go right in-between your ribs unlike a bigger knife. Your heart is only maybe 2 inches in your chest.
You can’t underestimate people when it comes to size. I have seen some bar fights where some idiots were picking on a smaller guy and have watched that guy waste them. 3 on 1
I am not saying this to be mean but you gotta learn to read your environment better.

I live in a town. I don't need to be looking over my shoulder and checking in windows etc. It was just a casual glance back that's all. If the guy wants to get arsey about it then he can. Just because I didn't back away 237437537 feet doesn't mean I wasn't putting myself in a good position to defend myself at all. And maybe by size, but also from my boxing and life experiences I know who I can beat and who I can't. And being 6 on 1 i'm fairly confident we coulda had him .
As for my m8s not being smart... how weren't they? It was between me and the other guy. They didn't say anything but were ready to react.
Also godlikez being who he is, you can clearly dismiss his 'street life experiences'. I'm sure AM knows what I mean. Because people like Godlikez are a common trend on the streets and their behaviour is pretty easy to stereotype too.
Also can you tell me how what snop said was true / good? Pulling out a weapon if two people are chasing you and you're alone wow who woulda thought that? |

Dude, you don't piss of people with knives. But then, like you said he looked like a pussy. But you never should've turned your back on him. What I would is just reply like you did to him, and stare him down. Maintain a distance so he can't thrust at you all of a sudden. If he wants to start something, he will move towards you. Thats all you need, just get in the first hit and concentrate on getting the knife out of his hand.
Most of the time people who whip out knives on their every whim are pussies looking for attention like you said, but you never know when a serious fucktard could show up and do you for good. Too many crazy people in this world today for you to take chances like you just did.
