the day has come.
you can download for free at the official site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/
but its a little too colapsed. (the site is praying and asking for forgiveness, litteraly)
so you may track it better with a torrent, or look into your private ftp.
im sure the original date for this was 6/06/06... but to avoid rummors, mr. gates has decided to postpose it...

20 reasons not to download it, and either buy it...
i don't understan ppl. they complain about everything that m$ do, and claim to the heaven that linux rocks...
if at least one game would be playable in linux, i would switch to it. but as far as i known linux, even to use some similar to word, some prgramming knowledge is require... not to say games.
so, for a low, medium pc linux should be okay. for a high end gaming pc, windows still owns.

There are literally hundreds of games available natively on Linux.
Beyond that wine has support for many many games.
Cedega even more if you want to pay their yearly fee.
Open office is a fine substitute for MS Office unless you're doing a lot of advanced work on spreedsheets created in excel.

I noticed MS didn't provide a torrent yet they're complaining of massive bandwidth issues.
fools.
Anyone know if this can be set to dual boot, or do you need another machine for it?

Dual boot works fine. you get to select where you want to install it.
For my, It looks pretty good so far, some slight diffrences to XP, but I like it

I wonder how this would go since I already have my system booting from grub.
usually when you install linux they say install windows first or its a headache..

it's easy, you have to create your new NTFS partition for windows vista, install it in that partition, and then you just have to manually add your new partition to grub.

It says 20 reasons you wont like Vista not why you shouldn't download it. If none of the 20 reasons pertain to you then why not download it? To me it looks more like complaining about stuff that still is in beta and getting used to new ways of finding junk.
Like number 7 "7. Lack of Windows Sidebar Gadgets" well duh it's fucking beta and new there is no users out there making it yet. |

Created a partition for it last night... started at 1053am this morning, installation finished about 10 minutes ago, time for work!
Went very smoothly. Now I just need to grab my mobo ethernet drivers out of the closet or burn them from this OS! arg.

1.) People will complain for various reasons
2.) People will get used to it quickly unless they consciously try to hate it
3.) People will realize it is a moderately better OS than Windows XP.
Personally I will be making the upgrade because I like to have the latest things
My only qualm is the dialog box that pops up when you install apps and make OS changes, but then I realized that it only takes a few milliseconds to click yes or no, and that nearly every good security suite already does this.
PS: Anti-MS people can shove it up their asses. I'm tired of hearing invalid dumbass complaints with no or faulty logical basis.

i dont give a fuck what others think about windows. if you dont like it, fine, shut your fucking mouth and use linux or whatever.
there is one thing i laugh about every time. people say 'microsoft is EVIL', and 99% of them use a pirated copy of windows  makes sense...

This was the only (what I thought was...) valid complaint I had heard up until now...
So there really is nothing overly bad about this apart from the bugs that are inherent in a Beta OS? People are so dumb...
