landing a good punch doesnt need much training, what most ppl do wrong is, they put the motion into the shoulder only.
actually you have to put most of the motion into your torso and turn it as fast as you can to deliver a powerful blow.

Yep, and aim for the face for disorientation, or for gut for incapacation. I always go:
face -> gut -> face -> push head down -> knee to nose -> kick with tip of foot under chin.
Almost always works, and its hella fast. All you need is surprise and coordination.

yell at the guy like an animal on top of your lungs and then punch him, he ll hardly get to counter.

I don't get some of you people. Saying kick his ass back, go wild with a bat and so on...
I've gotten my ass handed for me two or three times but I never thought of retaliating. Does that makes me a coward or someone that gets pushed around? No I still stand up for myself and everytime the sorry fucker has been worse afterwards then me. Guess all of them regrets beating me up when they hand over the money I get. Plus they get registrered at the police and they'll see how fun they'll have with that in the future.
Sure I've been in a fight or so and hit back, but never done that in a real serious fight like you described here. In that situation I simply make sure there are witnesses and then I go to the police.
For me, fighting solves nothing whenever there is a peaceful solution. But who knows, some day there may not be a peaceful way to solve and then day I'll do what it takes if I have too.
Until then, I just stay out of fights as much as I can without humiliating myself.
Oh btw, I think you reacted correctly not getting violent back.

It depends on the person man.
And to me, its a question of character. Violence can solve things if used correctly. I know your going to want to argue that, but its true dude.
Your method, I will admit, is the smarter method. After you get hit once, drop to the floor, smack your head off the ground and sue the guy.
If the guy happens to have money, your set.
But still, it is kinda cowardly. There's something about standing up for yourself and not getting walked on. No fuckin way am I gunna let some punk motherfuckin beat on me. Not if i have the option to fight back.
Seriously, why take a beating without atleast trying to defend yourself. You dont get in trouble and prolly still could sue the guy if you didnt hurt him to much. Claim a back or neck injury you know? They are heard to prove.
And shit, what if your out with a woman. Women like to know they are safe with the guy they are with. What if some kinda started hittin on your girl in the club, you say something and he starts throwing punches? Are you going to take the beating, look stupid, get hurt and probably lose your woman? Or, are you gunna crack the fucker with your beer bottle...
Self defense and the defense of loved ones is critical, to me anyway. Partly the reason I got into martial arts when i was a kid.
Still, I wont lie, I am kinda biased. I like to fight. Its a test of intelligence, stamina, strength, dexerity, speed, coordination and honour.
Fighting is one of the truest and unbiased things around. You either hit or get hit. Win or lose...no middle ground and its up to you what side you end up on.

Ever heard of a draw? What if a fight gets broken up by the bouncers, who wins then?
Syco, modern brawling is nothing like that. Nowadays it's more a test of who's got the most friends around, who managed to bottle the other guy while he wasn't looking, who managed to sneak a knife in, who attacked the guy unprepared, who jumped the other guy when he was drunk and leaving the club...etc, etc. Their is no intelligence and certainly no honour in a bar fight. Even the other characteristics you mentioned arn't always a factor.
Sure, maybe in the past their was honour in battle, but not any more. Don't delude youself into thinking there is anything more to fighting other then an instinctual desire for violence and competition.

if you re trying to get through life with getting hurt only as little as possible, while sacrificing your pride for it, then its a crappy life really. you gotta make sacrifices every day, but some are more important than others.

Forget the bullshit about honour in a fight, when it comes down it's about who will win and who will lose, no rules exist, use anything to your advantage, play dirty play hard, doesn't matter how you win because if you loose, well, nobody cares about the loser.

I don't see how loosing a fight is loosing your pride? I feel proud whenever I manage to go the peaceful way, and fuck there's no respect in kicking someones ass. How can that be respect and pride?
Syco, you gotta live in the stoneage or something if the women goes to the ones that kicks most ass. People I hang around with values personality a lot more than muscles, same for most girls I know.
Just think about it, who would you rather want? The one that kicks most ass or the one that cares about for real and have some fucking intelligence and a nice personality instead of a violent one?

Yes it does, you end up seriously damaging his eyes or killing him and you'll be in prison for a fair amount of time.

yeah yeah. Easy talking about the figh. But some people are fighters, others are not. Has nothing to do with pride or whatsoever. If you can avoid a fight, why not? If they hit you, and you dont hit them back because you dont like pain (because you will get your ass whooped 10x bigger) then you dont hit back.
Of course if some wankers hits your girl, and you are with 5, then you beat the shit out of him, but keep it decent and dont kill him or smash him to death.
