I'm using PROViSiON's release with the Update.
I have reached City17 and killed the first Combine Soldiers in the alley, and while running through those large moving metal beams, the game crashes to windows with a DirectX 9 error message. Since then I was not able to get back ingame (playing), but the menu works flawlessly with the Citadel background.

My System:
WinXP Pro SP2
A64 3700+
1024MB PC3200 CL2
nV 6800GT AGP
SB Audigy 2 ZS
Newest Drivers/Windows Updates

Has anyone else encountered this problem, or have you fixed it already?

Thanks, but that doesn't seem to solve my problem, since those are all ATI users posting in there... Sad

Just thought I should let everyone know, I had about 4 month old drivers installed and assumed that all the crashing was because of the release, I installed newest catalyst drivers and it fixed all the problems, never seen a game require such new drivers before... but hey, I'm happy now.
