Could somebody tell me where is a heal machine in the first level, by the bridges that activate with yellow balls. The problem is I am still downloading the update (66% now) and heal machines are invisible for me now Sad

I used to be a knee like you. Then I took an adventurer in the arrow.

Heh yeah, start.bat was made for nubs who dont know how to create a shorcut with extra commands, so just create shortcut to hl2.exe and add this in target field: -steam -game episodic
It should looks something like this: "D:\Games\HL2 Episode 1\hl2.exe" -steam -game episodic

well i ran the whole thing in dx8 mode on my gforce 5600xt, with teh patch applied and i could see everything, worked wonders.. for anyone interested heres a screen grab tour of the whole game Smile

its been resized but you get teh drift, all options turned on, 800x600 res and dx8 , im sure my pc cld do more but i was doing some rendering at the time as well Smile

J have too a Geforce5600xt than a amd 2000+ and 1gb ram and it runs fine
Texture\models deitals max all reflections on resoultion 1024x768 and shadows high
I'm playing it with 40-80FPS

At the end of the trainyard "course" there's a box with unlimited RPG's, took me 4 RPG shots to kill it I think.

I have been seeing a lot of different reports about the Provision rls. I have seen people say it calls home (even nuked as such on some sites) and also that it will hose your existing (legit) steam install and acccounts.

I dont think this is the case since its standalone files that dont use steam or the game launcher at all. Still, is there any validity to these reports? Apart from the texture issues some are having is there any harm to those with existing legit HL2/steam installs?

These reports do my fucking head in, the game does not use steam, if your bothered by stupid reports like that, disable it`s internet access through firewall or disconnection.
There is an update available that fixes the textures perfectly.

I`ve been running a cracked steam account to play it before I bought the game as well as this release, and my original account is till fine and dandy.

Steam doesn not search your pc files or anything like that.

Play the game, it`s fine.

well finished it two times , with and without the comentary and i must say WOW GIVE ME MORE its way BETTER the Sin2 episode 1 (it sucked ),

HL2 episode 1 is truly awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well finished the game in about 2 and a half hours @ normal Laughing
So let's all be quiet until next episode in Christmas Laughing Laughing Laughing

If i play it the "fast way" maybe i could finish it in 2h. So, for a game that costs almost half the price of a "regular game", it's indeed very short.
I remember that i played HL2 for almost a week until i finished it...
