I used to use kerio but is not just using the default one supplied by windows but I'm unable to host any games for some reason and I think the default firewall might be the problem. Which firewall do you guys use/suggest? Thanks.

Aye, aside from the problem I'm having with people not able to access my computer I think it does a fine job.

for certain games you need to open a specific port.
But you already knew that right

Oh man, how many times have i asked that question in different forums and stuff. I was using Norton until the big crackdown some moths ago (good actually cause its a crappy CPU monster) I used Zone Alarm and Outpost Firewall. I am currently using Zone Alarm Security Suite, it does the job and sorta stays in the background and does what it should. Outpost was probably really good to but I hated all the pop up warnings all the time.

I used to rely on Sygate Personal Pro firewall and it did perform quite well. But now I kind of stepped back to the Windows XP internal firewall in combination with a packet sniffer.

Many scan websites out there to test your security. http://www.dslreports.com/scan
Why waste resources if not needed.
And then a good backup will always work the best to be safe.
