Then it's not an rpg then is it, it's an "Action-RPG" in a rpg you actually have to think.

So an action rpg can't be classify as a rpg?
Think of Rpg as a general classification, it has many sub-genres, among them action-rpg and the traditional turn-based rpg.
By your logic you can't call Final Fantasy 7 a Rpg either, since it's a turn-based Rpg isn't it? By your logic, you can't call any game a Rpg.

This is starting to look like when I said that HOMM V was an RPG. I even bent over backwards and finally said it was an TBS RPG, but NOOOO WAY! i am still the N00B in this forum. What ever, does it really matter?

RPG turns into a hack and slash game when every little enemy from troll , goblin, ork , snake , to spider turns suddenly to Exp points , the you don`t see a snake NO you see Exp points here and Exp points there ,you forget about the story but start looking for exp points .

Funny, since collecting experience is what define a Rpg.

Name one popular or at least critical acclaime Rpg that doesn't have the experience collecting system.

Well, we got the baldurs gate games, and ice windale games. The jagged alliance..

Think todd's words was somthin like this in th E3 trailer: You get better att the things you aksualy do, ther is no experiencepoints. | Hmm, well thats maybe true, but you level up.. |
you don't have t lvl up, just select skill that you will never use and you can be lvl 1 thro the hole game(but then you cant get passt the mq sice it has quest there you have to have lvl 3 or more)
but hell this is so off-topic.
For thos who is geting TitanQuest here is a demo review:

Because if it wasn't popular or at least receive critical acclaime without being popular with the large audience, means that the game tried to be innovative and failed misserably, and failed games don't get to set the standard for anything.
One way or another all Rpg's that I know of have some kind of experience system to them, the fact that you level up by using a specific skill often like in the case of Oblivion, prove that there is a experience collecting system behind it, you kill x amount of monters you level up, or you use a spell x amount of time you level up, it's all the same, just a different way of implementing it.

Our discussion is about the experience system as a defining aspect of any Rpg.
Ofcourse I would agree that the experience system isn't the only defining aspect of a Rpg, but we aren't talking about that.

Sure they are, try beating Eye of the Beholder by staying at level 1.
