Reformatted my PC yesterday, installed Win2k PRO with SP4, all windows updates installed, everything up to date, directx, gfx drivers, sound drivers, chipset drivers....
I install the game, patch it, copy the folder structure and replaces all files in chaos theory folder. I start the game, nothing happens.
It's obviously the crack...

Exactly... But still, I hope reloaded do a crackfix that fixes whatever remnant of SF is causing win2k and certian winxp comps issues. |

If its the crack it would not work, period. I will not speculate here but to me it really seem to be something else that is not doing it. Some other forum thoughts on this.

The crack works for some, period. If a crack wont work for everyone, it's not a 100% working crack now is it? So they obviously need to fix it.

Well whatever. If they feel it needs a crack fix they will do one...when they do one.

No, the crack is 100%, the problem is the ntdll file, the same problem was with The GodFather and more games. The ntdll file is giving the problems. No solution is found at the moment for this.

well guess im one of the lucky ones cuz i just installed and it worked perfectly so for me there's nothing wrong with it.
my specs are
P4 3.2ghz
512mb ram
Geforce 7800GS
and got SP2
no problems here whatsoever so far.

My game will NOT work and these are my specs:
Intel Pentium 4 , 3.0 ghz (HT)
2x512mb PC3200 DDR RAM running in dual mode
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition (256mb).
Windows 2000 Professional SP4
Latest DirectX
Latest ATI Radeon drivers
Not latest soundcard drivers
Running process other than Microsoft processes:
Xfire
Firefox
mIRC
Daemon-tools
ATI catalyst control center
Logitech MX5xx software
O&O Defrag

I tested it first with sp1, and no go. Updated to sp2 and it worked. Dunno if it´s that or what caused this, but it works now, and I´m happy  .
(original eu-version,"pirated" xp)...
Edit: Had to use automatic updater, ´cause downloadable 1.00 to 1.05 crashed (something about "file is found" ..blablablaa...). No restarting, just created new shortcut (after apllying crack). Just my 2 cents...

It has fuckall to do with SP2, its the crack.

I've got win2k sp4 (constantly updated, and no legit check as in winxp) and the reloaded copy of the game. I followed carefully what the nfo says, read many posts in different forums to see if I had overlooked anything, and for me the game doesn't work. There seems to be a general agreement that this release works in 60% of the cases, that means a 40% of failures: not little, indeed. So, a crackfix is needed, and IMHO this release fully deserves to be nuked, which doesn't mean that Reloaded are not great, but even the best can - sometimes - make a mistake.

Ok, i see your point, as for the issues you mention, i don't think it's about ther hardware you mention. Why? Because i don't have an Athlon 64 nor do i have audigy 2 and Via Kt800.
My Cpu: Athlon xp 2400. My Mobochipset: Via A7v33-x, Soundcard: Soundblaster live Digital. Yeah i know, it's and old comp but it should be able to run Chaos Theory, so i don't know.

Groups dont give support to old OSses anymore, you need to have at least Windows XP + SP2, and you guys should try to update your Windows to currentstate on \/\/indowsupdate.com

Wrong. Cracks must work on the same number of OS'es as the original game. In this case Winxp and WIn2000. Period.

Wrong, I have the lastest scene rules here, 2000 and lower isnt needed to be supported anymore. Nearly all groups dropped that already.
