I've got a question about this rel. :
Is this the "cut" version with less blood etc.? cuz I read that the german version(or cuted version) of this game has also blood effects when u shoot someone, but when the bodys lay on the ground there's no more blood visiable and you can NOT chop of body parts...ehm and that is exactly how it is in the PROViSiON rel., so my question is did they crack the cut version and if so is there a bloodpatch or something out that will enable it...

Maybe it depends on your Windows region settings. Did you try what happens when you set the three usual things (standards and formats/location/unicode) to English (USA)?

What a shite game....graphics does not even come close to Half Life 2. All details maxed and playing in 1280x1024....looks en feels old and outdated. I'm not even going to waste my time with it.

well, for me its the opposite. It ran pretty decent before the update but crashes pretty often after... ...and i had to use the "ai_noblablabla" console-workaround even with the update
this game really has more bugs then the crotch of a crackwhore
and i really like the game when it doesnt crash as the challenges are well set out and well paced to be fun to play and the gfx is cool enough to have one or two of those "cool, look at that" moments

There was said (in readme) to delete BIN folder before applying a patch. Did you?

You better believe it. |
Also full of shit. The graphics are the same as HL2, just the textures are to do with the sin universe. Some of the modelling is better than Half life 2.
The first game was good but wayyyyy too long there was something like 35 levels, this was short and nothing great, but it's just building up to the big finale. As a full game i'm sure it'll be good in its own right and I believe 10 hours for all 3 parts is a worthy time.
Also there are enough things to make you want to play again, such as the secrets and the difficulty settings.

Yup. But only the "root" bin folder. I also see that gcf and se1 have bins in them as well, do I need to remove these as well?

This is weird. The game is not messed up, my save files are messed up. (Console reports "Error loading stats from save game")
When I started a new game it runs smooth. I guess no choice but to replay everything up to Radek.

I had that, Provision didn`t include Rituals version of the U4labs fix, and made their own, which gives a node graph error when the level first loads up, but the level works properly and so does Redicks scene. I think that`s the reason the saves are messed up.

I would have thought so, I`ve bought it now, so I don`t have to worry, but I was running the Pro-Vision with Update 1, and I had worked my way up to the pt without any trouble.

Yup, it appears to be so. I just finished it without any problems, it occassionally reported "rebuilding node tree" after loading the level, but that did not dumbify the AI as with my old saves. Its a nice fps but waaay too short.
Added: One way to prevent AI from swarming dozens of bots is a full frontal attack. If you blitzkrieg into enemies and cross an imaginary line near the swarming point they will stop swarming, you just need to shoot out (and survive) those who already swarmed
