HOMM V is still an TBS/RPG if you ask me. And if you'r that ignorant as to hold that against me..."well sodd off Baldric" |
heh, I'm just saying that a guy who doesn't even know what a TBS game is, shouldn't say anything about "the same old", simple as that. Don't act so jaded. Go talk when you actually know what you're talking about.

Why are you still trying to argue with the TAAW? That's all he wants after all. Just ignore him.

The campaign is so bad. The cut scenes and dialogue are just so painful..
this isn't even good enough to be B movie bad.

You don't need to add 'IMO', everything people say here is pretty much there own opinions anyway If you do enjoy the game, well that's good for you. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Why not ?
This game is fine, its polished , logical, easy to get into, balanced, fun, has a nice new theme, looks good, and doesnt make your vid card cry.
I enjoyed it thoroughly. |

I wasn't saying the missions themselves were bad, or the gameplay..just the story. Its horribly cliche and SO painful, its like it was more tacked on than anything else.

Boake, you're not working for Big Huge Games, who made this game, are you? Judging by your posts, I'd say there's a possibility.

So i played the campaign just to give this game a chance. I really love steampunk games and so i played just to learn the game better. The campaign is indeed lame. Mostly "take all the cities" scenarios and random maps if you defend a map you already own. I quit after the Alim campaign because i had the feeling i have seen/learned everything. The factions are not too different.
It was a fun experience until i had seen all. The problem is, besides the fresh scenario it offers few that hasnt been there. What made Starcraft so special was that every unit was essential and unique...every unit had some special powers, like digging in, berserk, magic...this tradition was continued in WC3.
In ROL i just mass the most expensive land/air unit and with enough superior quantity i win always.
I found also sad that you cannot use all the units/heroes you could play in the campaign in skirmish mode. So many cool heroes and you have only 3 in the skirmish? Why cant you choose at the beginning of the skirmish which 3 to take or have them all available ingame and limit the heroes/side to 3?
Well, was fun the time it lasted. Now its just another RTS.
We are the creators of Time, the victims of Time, and the killers of Time. Time is timeless. You are the clock.
