It was good. Demo was just about the right length. I'm not sure how much I'll play it. I only like these types of game in very short doses.

So maybe its Nvidias problem entirely. Their drivers have been less than stellar lately.
Still doesn't mean your slow down isn't the result of an older card and his a result of gremlins.

All character files will be stored locally aka. cheat city.

There is no Battle.net style multiplayer portal, only game matchups via. gamespy.

Is it out next month aswell, no? then just enjoy this if even for a short while, the potential for the community to create modules and even new classes, spells, weapons, monsters etc with the editing tools it ships with provides the basis for a good modding community, and certainly the possibility for alot of user made modules which you could enjoy on your own or with friends.

So stop the bashing, and instead of only looking at negative points look at the positives, I could for instance say well Hellgate London is nothing but Serious Sam and Diablo mixed together, but of course people will enjoy it and people will mod it and have fun with it, theres nothing thats "The Best11!" live in the now and enjoy what your served.

okay this one is a must have, it chugs a bit in specific situations but thats the demo not being fully tested (probably any) and my 9700 showing its age.

the balance seems pretty damn good - levels not too far apart and quests are worth getting but not 'overpowered '- the skill system is very nice, the game has a noticable veneer of being PG13+ but that passes quickly, you can really get into it. the particle effects & physics more than make up for the lack of gore (heck i prefer it most of the time, its so pretty). would look extremely good on a higher res.

unsure of hellgate, does anyone have any doubts? someone convice me its good cause im worried that its not going to live up to the hype. the gfx could be better, im not sure about this lack of aiming thing and fps's with rpg elements have rarely worked perfectly together.

Relatively. The characters were stored on the server rather than on the computer - so people couldn't modify their characters. Of course I recognise there were cheaters, but not quite as bad as many other online RPGs.

I love diablo (this game has a diffrent gothic climate and GOOD music ) but seeing x times the same game type with no free camera , well its lame that they show you the side kick camera in the trailer but in the real game this feature doesn`t exist and i miss the Dungeon Sige climate and those little automisation like pick up items button , show items button (well you can press alt to show you those on the ground but they will not show those that are broken or have fallen recently its like pressing F5 to refresh , and in diablo alt pressed and it showed you all the items )

the good thing about it :
*is optimised and runs great
*has a great psyhics engine
*nice graphics

The bad things about it :
*no free camera that you can rotate
*music is kinda lame this one should interest you in the game and not bore you
*the more i play it the more i think its a diablo rip off
*no mojo in it (climate)

I hated Dungeon Siege and its expansion & sequel, so this game is a step in the right direction to me. Lack of camera rotation seemed odd to me at first too, but it's not really a gamebreaker. Not being able to pick up all isn't really a bad thing either, so much garbage drops that you won't even be picking up 10% of the "quality" items (the alt-key ones). There's also Z and X if you really want to know what the garbage on the ground is. I do agree that it's annoying that you can't see what items are while they are still in the air by holding down alt, you have to wait a couple seconds for them to settle on the ground before it tells you.

Runs great (40-60 fps) until you enter a cave and even a few outdoor spots, then fps drops to single digits. Probably not a big deal, that's the sort of thing that will be fixed between demo and release.

Still not sure if it's something I'll buy, need to try out the multiplayer coop before making that decision.

I had no slowdown problems. Those who are having slowdown problems could you post your video cards? I'm a bit curious.

I'm wondering if there isn't another problem with the Nvidia drivers. I know that a bunch of people I know who play TS2 had to keep their drivers at 78.01 for months because all the drivers Nvidia was releasing (until the last set) were causing graphical errors with the game.

I have a X850, so it's not just nvidia. Cave slowdowns with both DH0 0.63 and 0.64.

well I dunno then, I must be getting extremely lucky. I played it all the way through including all the side quests that involved caves and not one slowdown on an x800GT.
