Yeah, just build up, I did, gave Godric near 2000 men.
It's easy since you get lots of money from the Tear of whatever, only pain is that there isn't enough troops to spend all the money at the end of each week.

no. u r quest is in some point to go meet nicholai ... with that guy hero.
he comes when u go south past that gate.
then just avoid demons and nicholai will kill them

im stuck with him and i cant defeat him

nothing? =\ dont have a way to put it working? plz guys can tell me all the steps? ;\ i install with daemons put the crack click on the game and BANG failed to set up display =\ i have a 6800GT last drives directX 9.0C ... a64 3000+ 1GB ram... =(

i had d3d error too but i installed dx9 pack from the dvd and it started working.
it has something different that normally comes

I made it on first attempt. I think you have to kill 1life of the Demon Lord. I think that's how I made it. I did not beat his whole army, just one or two units. Strange...

He means the enemies garrisoning the gate 
To past the gate you need to defeat them. |
You don't need to pass the gate and defeat anybody, just send Godric where he should be sent, i.e. past _right_ gate, no left, then Nicolai appears, cut-scene, end of mission. |
Haha, you're right, it's the gate below my bad, but it's still defended though.

I think the Tear is randomly located, there are several places where it can be depending where the game put it. Only way is to find the obelisks and solve the puzzelmap to home in on its location.
I found mine east of the spell pedestal near middle of the map. Bu tin another game I also dig it up near the red flag just south of your city.

Hold shift and drag the army you want to split into an empty slot, the split army window will show up.

i am at the fifth mission of the haven campign and i need to dig the tear of asha
if completed the puzzle map and want near the flag that boosts u"r morale to dig but i cant dig
what should i do?

You have to be fully rested to do so, then the icon with a shovel on it will appear in the menu that's in the down right corner !
