hi there, sorry my englis, but i'm from azores portugal, maybe it's the solution for symantec internet security 2006, i've tried and i have the is2006 workink fine, there we go...
1ºinstall the NIS 2006 and in the end reboot the pc just like before...
2ºdisconnet the internet conetion after reboot
3ºput the register key just like before (yes use the ...0000 00999)
4ºperforme the liveupdate of NIS 2006 (all the updates possible until the licence expires)...
5ºreboot in safe mode...
6ºlook for the file named "ISSTE.DLL" in (c:\programs files\Norton Internet Security\ISSTE.DLL) and rename it for exemple "ISSTE.DLL_" or delete it, then go to the NIS 2006 cd and copy the same file located in (c:\WINNT\SETUP\SETUP\APP\ISSTE.DLL) to the same location that you renamed the file...
7ºchange the atribut of the file and active the "read only" and "hide" the file
8ºreboot the pc...
9ºthen the product still is expired, so click on the "fix the issue" to performe the fixing...
10ºdo the same on the 2º and 3º...
11ºconnect the internet
12ºperforme the liveupdate and that's it
enjoy the NIS 2006 like i do...

Guys. use Client Security Corp 3 and no pain at all...
No activation...
