Game doesnt work at all. It just crashes all the time.
If you're lucky you'll get past the UbiSoft screen.

Naaaa, I give this a miss. To many RPGs like this lately...and none of them where realy good.
I guess the devs have to come up with something new if this genre is to survive.

Wow, not only are you a clueless n00b you are a blind n00b. As at least one other guy in this thread said, its a strategy game, not an RPG. Turn based.
RPG, ahahahahahahahhaahah.
And if you are including oblivion in that list of not too good RPG's released recently, you are a moron as well.

Has anyone gotten this to work proper? The latest Dtools+ Seculoader 1.2 combo doesn't work for me - says emulation software detected. ;/

Ah so its just the name calling you disagreed with? None of my specific points? Well I think I'm entitled to calling names since he didn't bother to read the thread or check out anything on the game without passing judgment on it. I was doing a similar thing by passing judgment and calling names without even knowing the guy.
Is either one of them justified?

Grow up and get a life kiddo. I do play Oblivion, if you read around a bit you would see that I started the Oblivion thread. But I guess your to bussy to be a prat. This game is simply not for me, and thats all period. N00b...well been playing games for PC for...lets see, since ever. I also used to play Amiga and C64 stuff when I was your age...that would be back in the early 80s...so N00b...what ever. RPG or Turn based what have you...still not inovative enough...sory but, thats just my opinion.
let me just quote Gamespots description of this so called Round Based Strategy game.
"The fifth installment in the Heroes of Might and Magic saga offers new factions, scenarios, and more. Heroes of Might and Magic V also lets you explore the fantasy role-playing universe in an all-new campaign mode."
Another quote from Ubisoft's site
"Complete strategy experience that includes RPG elements: Six campaigns and over 30 missions, in which players conquer territories, manage cities, recruit armies, and raise and upgrade heroes in a user-friendly, yet deep strategic gaming system. "

If you had any experiance with classic games, you'd know that there were other games in the same universe as HOMM which are RPGs. Like the Might and Magic games (notice the lack of the word heroes?).
Heroes of Might and Magic has pretty much always been a strategy game. Since I can't get 5 to run yet, I can't tell you exactly what the campaign mode is, but if its like previous hero games, the only way you can call it a RPG is if you call Warcraft 3 an RPG. Previous HOMM games and WC3 allow you to level up your hero with your army killing thier army, and collect some items which increase thier abilities. Neither game is an RPG, they are strategy games (although one is turn based and other is real time). I dont really ANY reviews of warcraft 3 calling it an RPG, although it has some small RPG elements in it.
So that explains those quotes you dug up, you prejudged the game based on a couple of phrases from quotes lol. Try reading the rest of the info on the game.
I've been playing games since the 80's as well, shall we compare penis length next?
If you only play innovative games, you are going to find a pretty small selection. Me I play fun games, old or new. I just went and played through the new version (updated just this year) of Out of This World. Thats a short fun game so I played it. But by your standards, its not innovative anymore so its not worth playing.
The only innovative game I can thinkof offhand thats on the horizon is Spore. Even oblivion isn't "innovative" its more evolutionary than revolutionary. But it sure is fun.

Lol no you didn't spoil my day. I just dont like people prejudging things based upon incorrect assumptions. Just like you didn't like me prejudging you by calling names.
And I will have a good day, by playing HOMM5, now that reloaded is out I can finally get it to work.

No problem here with activated Deamon drives and Securom loader 1.2. But getting into the main screen takes a time. Bad loading times or my pc is to bad.
