why not buy a cheap router and turn off all ports ? Why to bother with software firewalls whitch
1) eat up quite amounts of system resources
2) get bypassed very easily
3) are a mess to use ?

I use both Nod32 & Agnitum Firewall Outpost and it works flawless! Great combination.

I'd go with ZyXEL.
They are a bit expensiver then "normal" routers but they are the closest thing to a pro router you can get. Loads of features.
Just pick one http://www.zyxel.com

Say what? Zyxel stuff for regular SOHO users is just as bad as the crap Netgear, Linksys and D-Link sells.
