I think the episode release scheme is bullshit personally. If I buy a game I want the full thing, not just an extended demo.

Yeah but it's worth the wait for a good sequel, as it can add whole new dynamics to a game, aswell as better graphics and new technologies.

Each new episode of this game will only continue the story, and possibly add new weapons or vehicles. I know I would be disappointed if a sequel added only that.

I am looking forward to this game as it looks good, but I hate this release scheme which they obviously think will make them more money.

Anyone knows what the interval will be between the release of each episode? Imagine it takes 5 hours to play through one episode.. are we then supposed to wait months until the next one?

I think this episode-scheme is idiotic. They should rather release the whole thing in one when they are done, instead of this shit. Also sounds like a money-making-scheme to me. :shudders:

damn right its a money making scheme

Each "episode" release will cost $19.95 US by Steam (boxed versions to be more expensive).
With 9 episodes total, gamers will be paying a total of $179.55 for the complete game. Each "episode" is estimated at 6 hours of gaming, but for the typical FPS gamer, expect around 3 to 4.

cant wait to pirate the doodoo outta this. 180 dollar game. fuck that.

9*4=36 hours.

omg....180 dollars for 36 hours that's just bullshit. I mean, a couple of years ago 36 hours were considerd the standard they cost around 50.

Money making scheme no doubt.

have to agree with you mate, sure i loved SIN when it came out. but im not paying a grand total of 180 $ for a game. this is an outrage. 9x4 = 36h gameplay for 180$ screw that, rome total war demo hade more time waste then that. and that was free! and the game it self hade huge time consumsion. so this is pure crap!

Well for a FPS thats a hell of a long time. But I would be more concerned about whether they can maintain someones attention for such a long period when all you're doing is shooting people.

36 hours has never been considered the standard for FPS's. I know you're pissed off and I agree that this episodic scheme is bullshit, but no need to resort to blatent lies to get your point across.

i like episode thing as long as each episode contains beginning & the end of substory not main story like CSI series, when it comes to series like Prison break it's getting annoying that escape goes for like 20 episodes
so i think idea comes from tv series, extra buck & don't have to design each time something new

Yes, I agree. 36 hours is way too much for a shooter. They better have some juicy story to tell or people will loose interest quickly.

And Cleves, really, lying to get your points across? Tsk, Tsk Smile

Hehe, well it is about 3 times as long as your average FPS. Smile

Seeing as how most people stick to the 'I only download to see if it's good' defense don't you find it kind of ironic that you can't stand the release model for sin?

If /NOTHING/ else this would at least make it so if the game wasn't worth playing people would have only put $20 down on it. Staying in that state of mind an episode release like this would pretty much demand a high quality product because if they half ass it then people will not buy the next episode. They have to be carefull, this release model could bite them on the ass if they get lazy or the game becomes dull, I am sure they are fully aware of this.

As far as the whole 5 hours of gameplay thing I think most of you are forgetting just about how long it takes to beat your average FPS nowadays. Most of the full priced FPS titles run well under 10 hours of gameplay.

Ok... you're NOT a real viking, thats for sure. How the hell could you be scared of such a braindead fps? you can fucking camp in a corner with a gun with shitloads of ammo, and just wait for the sloooooow zombies.
