Do you have enough space? The game needs like 6GB+
Also if your file system is Fat32 then you need to convert to NTFS, Fat32 can only handle 4GB or something.

Read the main dreamfall topic in PC games arena.. You have to edit the registry to change the default installation dir..

As for some reason the morons who wrote the installer think we live in 1991 and everyone installs things to the C: drive..

You don't have to install it to the C: drive though. You only need 7GB of free space on it before it gives you the option to change the installation directory and thus another drive.
