taken from gamerhell

Although expected for the 12th, Xpand Rally demo probably got leaked, anyway as we could not get ahold of any Techland reps and the demo is widely available already, here it is local mirrored for your download-bandwidth pleasure.

Update: We were contacted by a Techland rep who confirmed the demo to be not official and subsequentially it is no more available for download locally.

So did anybody get the demo before they removed it ?

Got it and i can say: shame to techland
They made the best looking racing game with kiddy controls and handling
All the game is perfect expect of controls. If they are going to release this game with these controls then it would be better not to release.......
And the other bad news:The game is starforce protected...... Mad
When the demo starts it shows starforce protection image....

nothing wrong with the handling, the handling is good as long as you have a good controller and dont play with the keyboard.

What ? Theres a gigantic difference between a wheel and a keyboard, cant see people playing a car game on a pad or a keyboard, the GT Force Pro wheel rocks with GT4 Prologue

yes its kinda crappy to control with a keyboard, I do have a force feedback wheel but I am too lazy to install it atm, graphics rock though allthough poland runs kindy laggy Neutral

ofcourse there is a HUGE difference msnes.
the main reason is that the keyboard is digital controlled which means you have to tap the left/right key when turning, try playing with some analog controller and see how smooth the handling is, no tapping whatsoever..just hold it in one position and see the car slide through the corner Smile

a gamepad works perfectly fine soman as long as its a analog gamepad and not a digital. ofcourse its not as good as a wheel but it does the job Smile

May be its time to buy a controller.....
But its strange (only for xpand) that controls are so awful with keyboard and so good (as you say) with controller Question

well its not the first racing game that has this problem.
i remember midnight club 2, the handling absolutley sucked with the keyboard but it was perfect with a analog controller.
so yeah get yourself a good controller and be amazed how much better every racing game becomes Smile

If this game would just be a little more realistic... If they had the stages and handling of Richard Burns Rally in this engine, it would be perfect. I just dont like to drive on a 20 feet wide speedway, I prefer the a-bit-wider-than-the-car-roads, where you really have to drive.

Well, I haven't tried it on PC yet but a friend of mine have the Xbox-version and this game rocks. I guess it is no simulator but more of an arcade ... but in my book this game kicks the a$$ out of most rally games on the PC! Had a blast playing it and almost bought an Xbox (not only for this game but still! Rolling Eyes )

i think this game can compete well with richard burns rally....... since this game is kinda in between arcade and sim..... its also got multiplayer and online.... supports custom tracks and cars...... for a normal rally fan like me.... who wouldn't want this game??
