i hate that they killed the show by making it 100% about Randy almost. He is such a great character but he only works in small doses, sprinkled here and there made him a highlight in the first seasons. Now, not so much because you are so bored with him.
I'd say it's your average South Pa... I mean America season
Nothing memorable since the first episode, though.
More kids, less Randy and of course keeping up with current events (fat bikes, food/meat quality, GTA6, ...).

I looked up the Mel Gibson episode (first one that came to mind ) and that's S8, so you're right

Glory days are behind it, quality is worse and worse.
Good Times with Weapons, Awesome-O, Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers, Passion of the Jew, Cartmanland, You Got F'd in the A - absolute classics !
Some of the super early ones are cool too, like Gnomes, Cartman Joins NAMBLA.
The earlier episodes are balanced so well, they have funny side characters like the two hunters, Mr Garrison, Chef, Randy.. They totally ruined both Randy and Garrison i think. Sure some of those episodes are great but they overused them.
I remember looking at the first episodes in .rm format, like '97 or whenever SP was released haha, such shitty quality, didn't matter, it was awesome. Introduced all my friends to it, everyone loved it and no one had heard of it.

S29 is a bit better than S27&S28 so far. Every now and then there are some really good ideas and jokes, like in the old times. But for only 5-6 eps per year this isn't good enough. And it always feels like the episodes run out of time. Maybe it would be better to have 30min eps instead.
