If you think you know her story, you’re dead wrong. Carrie, a new series from Mike Flanagan, based on Stephen King’s iconic debut novel arrives October 7 on Prime Video.
A short story stretched to 6 episodes or so. A simple plot about socially awkward telekinetic who is triggered by public humiliation involving pigs blood? And in this rendition it's all happening now in the era of smart phones, social media and internets everywhere, yet we are supposed to believe she wasn't aware of periods? Rrriiiight!
It was ok although half the season was about social media being a source of a lot of problems nowadays. And it takes place in the Shining-verse (I don't read King so I don't know how it all connects in his books) as it was hinted multiple times throughout the season so it's logical it will be a couple of seasons.

Guess we'll see about the multi-season arc. It was good. But the entire thing is built on a flimsy premise. In real life the arc would end prematurely because Insta would have deleted the troll account after a week max.
Liked it very much. The actress for Carrie is superb, she really is a great fit for the role.
The soundtrack, even while using some pop-music, is used to great effect and actually creates certain moods, and is not just background noise as in other productions.
The way they ended this I could Season 2 even star a different main character, and then later on it merges with the Carrie storyline. Would fit with what h0rnyfavn writes arbout different King stories.
The only real downside I have with this series is that is starts in medias res. I hat that kind of story telling and it actually spoiled the buildup for me. You already know that/how it will escalate from the very start. I would have preferred this to be a slow burn because as it is now, there is nothing really surprising or shocking of anything that happens.
