Graphically it could have looked better. Maybe they could have gone the 2d sprite route even.
But still im confident that this will be a good game since the dead cells devs are working on it if im not mistake .

Looks like issues / bugs from the demo are also present in the 1.0 game.

MIXED reviews on Steam atm.

Gave this a warez yesterday. I really really enjoy the art style of this game, really pops on OLED monitor.. just when i thought OLED monitors were becoming pointless due to dumbass devs adding a grey tint/filter over everything. Oh, you have to enable vsync and enable a frame limit to the game to get it to start btw Laughing

Does the game feel like a castlevania game? Not really, but is that a terrible thing? How many times do you need to play the same game over and over again. I'm glad a new dev took a fresh crack at it.

Negatives-the dodge/slide seems inconsistent, i-frames on it are weird. You need to do everything kind of early in this game compared to something like Hollow Knight.

The audio is lacking-voices sound terrible and tinny, the highs sound blown out especially the girlboss's voice. Music seems more for background mood rather than something thats gonna get stuck in your head all day.. no bangers yet. Anyway only 2 or 3 hours in, wonder if it'll get better.

The artistic direction is breathtaking, but the readability during action is abysmal. You are too colorful, the backgrounds are too colorful, the attacks are too flashy, everything is a freaking explosion of color and you can't see shit a lot of the times during combat.

The dodge is very unreliable.

The UI and controls were not designed at all for m&k.

I like everything else so far.

I've been playing it for a while. It's a nice game, but tbh, I think it has too many "hardcore" platforming elements for my taste — elements that result in your death. For instance, there are sections with lots of moving circular platforms with spikes surrounded by other deadly obstacles, where you have to jump around in midair while holding down and releasing your Holy Light skill button at just the right moment...

Unfortunately, nowadays I just don't have enough time to die again and again, only to restart at the resurrection point over and over. I've enabled the "restart at a boss gate" option, and it's a really convenient feature, but these platforming sections just annoy the hell out of me.
