why don't you? It says nothing about him trying this, just his brakes overheated causing him to speed up.

It was a simple driving class to a chauffeur when I got out of the army. What a couple of fools.

1981. My buddy started the business, and I should have gone into that business, because now he is wealthy.
I can't believe that you know-it-alls don't know that you can drive without the power steering.

a simple driving class to a chauffeur...and how does that have anything to do with driving at highspeeds? dude, you got caught in a lie and we are the fools? riiiggghhhttt..
Wouldnt a driving class discourage you from highspeed driving, especially if has to do with chauffeuring? or let me guess, it was a stunt driving class so you could do some flashy shit while chauffeuring..?

Learn how to read, it is about driving without the PS, and yes, at high speed. On a track with water and cones. Sorry if you never had any driving classes. Go to Las Vegas and do some.

again, you display your over sensitivity...its not my fault you fucked up your own lie...seriously. Why bother responding?
See, your not 46...least I would wager a week's pay against it.
And if you are, man, you are the most immature, over 40 guy I have EVER met. You act so childish, its ridiculous. Even the most rigid of people on here admit, from time to time, when they are wrong about something or when they get caught talkin shit - myself included.
So whats your hang up? Are you some lonely old dude man and just bitter about everything? or are you a 15 year old punk who tries to play stuff off like he actually knows what hes talking about?
Seriously, I want to know/figure out the source of your complete ignorance and childish behaviour.

Yes you can drive without powersteering but it's painful. I don't know how many of you follow WRC but powersteering failure in WRC is one of the worst scenarios for the driver. I remember Gronholm lost the powersteering couple of times last year with his Peugeot (btw WRC cars are way lighter than regular cars especially BMWs ) and after 20 Km (13 miles) he was so wasted and his arms did hurt for the rest of the day so badly that he couldn't drive any decent times that day. And WRC drivers are fit! Secondy a WRC car does not go 130 mphs though there is lots of hand work involved to get though the corners and the roads aren't so smooth either. Anyway, I think this guy had to do lots and lots of twists and turns to avoid the traffic. So I think if he had killed the engine and the power steering he woud have gone off the road after the first zig-zag doing 130mph and maybe taking other cars with him.
Anyway, I dont want this happen to me and even to my enemies. |
Shift the car into neutral
Turn the key one notch to kill the engine. You will lose power steering and power-assisted brakes but you will still be able to control the car

Next flame = ban, I don't care who does it.
Come on gents, let's all talk about the guy going 130 MPH, go try it out and post your findings if you want, but no more flaming.

most new cars reduce power steering assistance the faster you go, if brakes had already overheated then whats the use of having the engine on duh. still i bet was pretty scary knowing you don't have much control over going and stopping.
as for the actual speed he was doing have you considered that the a1 isn't perfectly flat? it's also the scariest road/motorway i've ever been on, even with a fully functioning car
