There's some micro-stuttering / micro-jitter to camera when you move / look around, no matter what settings I use, RT/PT off included.
Also, the lighting is still very off / bright even without RT/PT.
How much did nVidiAI paid these guys to artistically butcher their game... ?!
I had this issue, but I’m on Linux. The solution was to sign out of the CDPR account in the main menu. Runs buttery smooth now.

What?!
must be some telemetry script butt gaping the CPU with its bloat code as it logs and sends literally each and every mouse movement, key press, game action and god knows what else.
5090. Downloaded it. Set it up not even to highest settings. 30 FPS.
wut. on highest settings with a 5070 ti, i mean everything on Ultra+ and RT, PT, hairworks on, no framegen (i turned it off to test) i got 48 FPS.
with more "sane" settings i have no issues reaching 60 FPS without framegen, though i acutally prefer it and have it on 1 to get even better FPS (over 100).
edit: oh shit, this was with DLSS 5 btw. totally forgot, its my new "norm" for games heh. so likely a 50% reduction of FPS. Never tried without since i have no interest in it.

Why opt in for telemetry, you do not need to. Anyways, tried this and there was 0 FPS difference for me, tested on the same save and spot.
Still ye n00b friendly CachyOS. Didn't have any serious issues with it so far. But I have a tendency to see issues as a challenge and if the odd event should occur that something critical for my work wouldn't go as planned, I can fall back to the trusty MacBook Air M1.
I haven't booted into Windows since last time we spoke about this and when I find the time, I'll delete the Windows partition.

So did it work?
Could be a different issue than mine.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

There it is, Slopya Nutella's biggest fumble with Microsoft. What a shit show Windows has become. Everywhere I look and talk to, "normal people" are just abandoning Windows.
I'm also considering installing Windows. I recently got a 5K display, and Windows is a total mess. It looks like Linux has come a long way with HDR and high DPI displays. I need to go over the situation with nVidia drivers on Linux and if there has been a material improvement since last time I dived into that rabbit hole. But I don't play that many games, so Linux is probably going to be fine.
I just don't think there is a way back for people that leave. And once there is a momentum going, stopping it is hard.

4k resolution.
should hardly be an issue on a 5090 and not even running DLSS5, 100 FPS+ would be super easy to achieve with very high settings, likely ultra+. PT at 4K i guess is heavy.
30 FPS and not even that high settings, not a chance unless something has bugged out entirely, or just extremely non tuned system otherwise. maybe super old CPU, would be odd if you have a 5090 i guess...

Yes. Hard to come across in writing. Sorry for the confusion.
The point I was trying to make is, sadly PT is simply too costly. I was completely ready to play this game again (one of the very best games ever made imho). But I will wait for the renodx mod (to make lighting closer to what was originally intended), and then I will play with vastly reduced settings to get high perf.
something is certainly off with your setup, same CPU as me, i have 5070 ti, runs great (well, way better than your setup and with DLSS 5). either you are lying about 30FPS with not everything on ultra+ and PT + RT or there's a real issue with your computer that you should check.
4K vs 1440 sure, but i have DLSS5, ultra+, PT etc and could easily get way more than that. 4K on a card with 32GB vram shouldnt be an issue.
CD Projekt RED: Here's some unoptimized, experimental tech we put into our 11 years old game!
Gamers: But it runs like shite!
CD Project RED: Don't you guys have 5090 RT-EXES... ?!
Was about to come here and complain about how glitchy and buggy it ran (especially when Cyberpunk full tits mode sans path tracing ran great)... before I noticed it was the stupid adrenalin software that refused to update to the newest drivers.
Now now, its only been a week since I'm back with team red.
Four switchable combat stances for Geralt — Witcher, Feline, Bear and Griffin — each with unique speed, damage, defence, dodging and sign trade-offs. Includes controller/keyboard switching, stance emblems, presets and fully customisable in-game settings.
Witcher, Feline, Bear and Griffin each change the feel of combat through different combinations of attack speed, damage, defence, movement, dodging, signs and bombs.
The aim is not to replace The Witcher 3's combat system, but to give Geralt different fighting styles for different situations. Each stance also has its own emblem and visual identity when selected.
THE FOUR STANCES
Witcher - Balanced and versatile Close to vanilla combat, but slightly more deliberate, with occasional flourishes and pirouettes.
Feline - Fast, agile and aggressive Faster swordplay, quicker dodges and rolls, and more frequent spins and pirouettes. The trade-off is lower sword damage and weaker defence.
Bear - Slow, heavy and defensive Slower movement and swordplay, harder-hitting attacks and stronger frontal defence. Heavy attacks are especially useful against shielded enemies and can create stronger staggers. Stamina still matters, and powerful enemy attacks can still stagger Geralt.
Griffin - Tactical and signs-focused Sword speed stays close to vanilla, but sword damage is reduced. Dodging and rolling remain quick, while signs and bombs become more effective.

I really loved the different combat stances / fighting styles in Witcher 1.
