PredOborG: hate to repeat it but its a mod and its a 23 year old game which obviously wasnt made with dlss 5 in mind..
i actually found a setting for the aura now when i tested it on Thief 2. there's a ton to mess around with, i am not an expert on the settings yet. when you do more than 1 layer the "aura" is more noticeable, for Skyrim and 1 layer there's no such thing.
It does some improvements here and there, but can't call it "amazing" or "insane" (at least from videos so far). Still it makes a lot of things worse.
And I don't get it why prices for RTX cards jumped by almost 40% just because of this shitty AI DLSS when it's super unstable to play doesn't even run at 30 fps on a 5070.
anyone who likes better graphics should be happy about it i think. its not fun having to disable it when FPS dips too much, quite the downgrade.
its still early too, there is no example, to my knowledge, where anything-AI hasn't improved just a few % but often 10x to 100x of what it was.
I'm not sure this will improve 100x, i doubt it, but i do think it will improve a lot.
Performance could absolutely be a lot better, but for games where you have maybe 150+ FPS its great.

It's similar to img-img, but its more advanced. Its an AI-assisted renderer, its not similar to instagram filters in any way actually.
you can test out similar filters that exists on Insta via reshade, the impact is pretty low, maybe 1-3% depending on what it is. I'd wish this was as simple and with that low impact on FPS.
Even very complex reshade filter / shader setups or ENB cant do this, not even close.
I can see a real good case for it when it comes to improving lighting and textures but for stylized games it just doesn't work especially on the models.
now if only it didn't require hardware from 2130 to run at an acceptable FPS.
There's no reason they couldnt train a different model which isn't made for photorealism.
Eventually we could have something to completely change how a game looks, like maybe Frank Frazetta or Vallejo-looking art. If modders could do their own fine tunes eventually it will be pretty mindblowing and we will think this first iteration is just lame and like a simple generic showcase.
Not sure we will ever be able to do that though, too many whiny people around, seen as super controversial etc. what we can hope is that nvidia "accidentally" leaks something which opens it up completely.
Looks amazing but it has the flicker issue that some games has, i have managed to fix it a couple of times though. So many games to try, so little time currently playing skyrim.
Why do the thumbnails always look like they made it with a "Make everything look like fried chicken crust" mod?
The video looks not as bad as the thumbnail implies. IT has issues but that thumbnail looks horrible.

the intense HDR look has been a thing for thumbnails for quite long, i think its meant to look good (detailed) on phones or something, because it certainly doesn't on a 77" TV
yeah really good in TW3, makes every asset look more connected to the world, looks overall more consistent, which of course any filter will do too, i am just glad we are over the "let's add a GREEN filter to tie it all together!", or the piss-filter, that was a terrible period but yes, easy to see why it was done when you remove the filter - suddenly its not very consistent looking or "connected"..
