The Telegram messenger has stars as its internal currency for services, purchases and donations inside Telegram channels, bots, users. Telegram users can buy those stars with their credit cards, exactly what I did.
1000 stars, about 20 USD, which I had on my Telegram stars balance after recent purchases, were given/spent by "me" to some bot called zvezdi (I.e. stars in some Slavic languages) in the beginning of August this year. I didn't notice the theft until end of August.
I don't remember performing this transaction.
So either I was too drunk to remember or I had been somehow compromised.
I checked linked devices, and there it was the impostor, some CPython client with a location listed as Kyiv, Ukraine. My assumptions is this client spent my stars. I terminated this session at once of course.
I'm aware about online security (two-step verification is on), as a rule I don't do stupid things on the intrawebs without taking necessary precautions. I got no idea how I was had, it vexes me greatly. It's a small sum, those 20 bucks, but I lost faith in Telegram security, in Telegram stars as reliable currency, in my IT prudence.
And considering where most of my Telegram stars donations went, the location of the unknown session disheartens me as well.
Of course, I reported the bot, tried Telegram help, but everything was to no avail.
Hence the bitching.
