Sony is doing it fine. See what happened to Microsoft ? Nobody cares about XBOX anymore because all their games are eventually releasing on PS5 (and on PC day 1).
Exclusives are what keep consoles alive. No exclusive no console.

Exclusives are must, why the hell would i keep my Switch 2 or PS5 otherwise lol, zero chance of that. Who in their right mind would buy a crappy Nintendo console - they suck ass. Despicable companies both of them, i would pirate all of their games.
